Trip Type: Not Provided Review 2 of 250Nice Accomodations
Everything about the Westin was nice except the "Valet Parking". Room was comfy, shower and bathroom great and the bed was very restfull but $30 a day for leaving your car parked is rediculous. A value has to accompany a price. If the car had been washed, vacuumed and diagnostics done, maybe. Heck, I get my oil changed for $25.00. Other than the valet stuff it was great.

The Westin Hotel is an amazing place to spend time away from home (vacation or work). I truly do not believe there is a hotel out there that provides the comforts that Westin provides. Location is ideal (close to the Gaslamp district, Little Italy, ballpark, etc. If we ever go back to San Diego, we are going to stay at the Westin.

Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 4 of 250Comfortable Room but Not for 4
The four of us stayed in the hotel for 5 days - they did switch rooms as the original was at an angle and was too confining. Four people - one room - not recommended but for the price it needed to be done. The power went out for 8 hours and they comped me for the internet use and one night of valet. As far as valet - we ended up parking across the street because it was cheaper. They do not validate even though you stay in their hotel which I do not agree with - downtown or not. Being downtown and next to a Greyhound station was a little depressing since we were on a vacation and the homeless were everywhere. My 10 year old was scared at night. The staff was great though - very friendly and courteous. I believe I should have been comped more for the inconvenience of the power outage at night but since we went through hotels.com we didnt get a discount.

Trip Type: Romance Review 5 of 250We Liked it!
Just spent one night. It has a modern feel to its theme. Beds are nice. Hot tub and pool where nice and warm. Nothing to complain about, great stay for us. Worth the savings from a room right on the beach or bay. You can still see the ocean if you are in the right room. I will stay here again.

The front desk was very curdious and helpful. Rooms were great, great facilities (gym, pool, etc.). Location was only a couple block from the gaslamp district in one direction, and a couple blocks to the pier in the other direction.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 9 of 250Way Too Expensive, too Many Hidden Charges..Know them up Front!!!
I read all the reviews here before booking thinking I was well informed and would be pleased with my choice of this San Diego Westin! I was burned..Please read all the reveiws and PAY Attention!! this hotel Costs WAy too much! Parking is rediculous!! There is NO Free Parking any where near the Hotel!!!! It's $29.00 per night and across the street is around $24.00. THere is NO Free Internet in the rooms..that costs $10.00 per night! A cheese quesadilla was over $10.00 so do not stay here if you are not well prepared to spend a lot of extra money, do not be surprised and take these words into account. We paid extra for a view of the Bay, and could hardly see it through all the other buildings. We changed rooms three times, one smelled like smoke. Beds are Doubles...not queens so be prepared to sleep tight. The room was quiet, clean, beds comfortable and the shower really nice. No, I would not stay here again. Staff was nice and helpful.

Trip Type: Romance Review 10 of 250Not an Original Westin
This hotel is not an original Westin. It was another hotel before and they changed the name on the building and that is about it. It did not look anything like the Westin's I have seen or stayed in before. The room was average and the service was average. The location was pretty good, about 4 blocks from the gaslamp district and 3 blocks from the harbor. The drawback to staying here is if you have a rental car you have to pay to have it parked because you are downtown where there is no parking.
