    Very good location, nice staff. Was very surpriced to have housekeeping personnel stop by everyday to pick up trash, make beds if needed at no extra charge.

    The resort is only 4 miles from the theme parks. but even if you are not going to the parks the resort has beautiful pools that can keep you entertain, also the lake, where you can rent a paddle boat or a ket ski. The only thing was the little roaches that appeared in the kitchen and guest bathroom. Overall, clean and roomy. Evertyhting worked. If you like to do laundry bring your own detergent, pretty much the only thing they did not have in the room. Great place to stay.

Location. The Westgate Lakes Universal Studios Area resort is located in Orlando, Fla., two miles from SeaWorld. Universal Studios Orlando is three miles away, and the Walt Disney World Resort is four miles from the property.

Features. Set on 100 acres, the resort features a lake, seven heated outdoor pools with spa tubs and tennis courts. The resort offers equipment for tennis, basketball, soccer, football, mini golf, horseshoes, shuffleboard, sand and water volleyball, ping pong and bocce ball. The miniature golf course features a pirate theme. A fitness center is available for a daily fee. Papillon the Spa features a full range of rejuvenating spa services, such as the Aloe & Sweet Orange Hydrating Cocoon and the Papillon Experience's light massage techniques and mud-bath treatment. The fee for use of the spa facilities includes use of the fitness center. Scheduled activities for children of all ages and adults include crafts, games, pool parties, fishing tournaments, dive-in movies, aerobics and bingo. A Kid's Club is offered for children from two to 12 by reservation (fees apply). Meals from the kid's menu at the Westgate Smokehouse Grill, which offers breakfast and dinner, are complimentary for children with a paying adult. The property also offers a Pizza Hut with delivery service and Sid's Deli. Four pool complexes feature poolside bars. The Marketplace grocery store at the resort offers grocery delivery service before arrival. Wireless Internet access is available for a fee. Pets are not allowed at the property.

Guestrooms. Accommodations at the Westgate Lakes Universal Studios Area include 27-inch televisions, DVD players, sofa beds and breakfast bars. Studios offer kitchenettes with microwaves, toasters, coffeemakers and compact refrigerators. The one-, two- and three- bedroom villas feature fully equipped kitchens with eating utensils, pots, pans and dishes. Villas also offer dining areas, jetted tubs, washers and dryers, and televisions in the bedrooms. Studios and two- and three-bedroom units offer balconies or patios. Newly opened in 2008, the one-bedroom units feature glassed-in rain showers, granite countertops, premium linens and white feather comforters. Wireless Internet access is available for a fee.

Expert Tip. The Westgate Lakes Universal Studios Area offers Hobie Cat sailboat, mini pontoon, family pontoon, kayak, jon boat, paddle boat and fishing pole rentals at the lake.
