Trip Type: Family Review 1 of 56A nearly perfect hotel
This gem of a hotel, set in the slightly funky but fascinating university district, is as close to perfect as they come; we wouldn't stay anywhere else when visiting Seattle. The only flaw on this last visit were bits of uncharacteristic carelessness at the front desk.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 2 of 56my new go-to Seattle hotel
I lived in Seattle for six years and was always distressed that I could not find a good hotel when returning to visit friends and family. I have one now. The Watertown was immaculate, quiet, and modern. Exercise room was good. Breakfast was just what you want in a hotel breakfast - plentiful pastries, hot coffee, and local yogurt. Best of all, the parking was complimentary - this being one of my main complaints when the downtown hotels gouge you for $40/day to park. I will definitely be back. Next time, though, I am getting a room on a higher floor to enjoy the view - we were lined up perfectly but too low to see anything.

Trip Type: Romance Review 3 of 56Great stay, but questionable charges
The room was great. Very comfortable and clean with crisp modern decor. The hotle staff was very friendly and helpful and the available amentities were beyond expectation. The only problem I'm having is with two extra $20 charges on my card from the hotel. I didn't use and room service or remove anything from the room so I don't know what the charges are for. Other than that the room was great for the price and I'd definately recommend it to others.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 5 of 56Great Hotel
The hotel looks new, modern and very nice. Service was excellent - I called after checking out because I thought we had forgotten some car keys in the room, and the front desk staff not only checked with Housekeeping but personally went up to the room to look for the keys. The breakfast bar is very good and saves a bunch when traveling with a family. I would stay here again.

Trip Type: Romance Review 9 of 56A four or five star hotel for the price of a three star hotel
All in all a really great hotel. For business I have stayed at the Monaco and the W hotels in Seattle and while nice they tend to nickel and dime you with extra charges for things like parking, internet, etc. The Watertown was free of those annoying charges and provided them as complimentary. The parking is underground and secure...and free. The room was really clean and they used the space very well. I have been in bigger rooms but this was more comfy than really big hotel rooms that simply have a lot of space but no real purpose for it. Great staff people at the front desk. We didn't have time for the Sunday free breakfast but it looked very good and varied. All in all I plan to stay at them again when I am in Seattle for biz and pleasure.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 10 of 56Watertown re-visited
Although expensive – Seattle hotels are – the Watertown hasn't disappointed yet. The staff is generally helpful (though occasionally distracted and sleepy-eyed since many are students at UW), the ambience tidy, welcoming, and comfortable, and the rooms spacious, clean, and quiet. In my opinion, the value received is well worth the cos, but only if the guest makes full use of what the hotel has to offer: a free shuttle, free parking, free bicycles, breakfast (not terrific, but it does the job and the dining area is so pleasant), and happy hour during the week. Though not especially fond of the University District, we often find ourselves in that area for events and appointments. The Burke-Gilman bike trail is handy and lovely for biking or walking and there are some very good restaurants nearby. Our recent stay was in a room we booked in the past for full price. At the time the hotel was newer and we didn't mind the very unattractive view of the parking lot and dumpsters below as we were on the fourth floor. Others may be bothered by the view (room # 402). The room is looking a little shop-worn, but perhaps this is only our perception as return guests. In any event, I wouldn't want them to raise the price!!! I generally recommend the Watertown to others, always explaining that it is expensive yet has many amenities that are worth the price if made use of.

Trip Type: Family Review 13 of 56wouldn't stay again
We chose this hotel because of all the other reviews but we wouldn't stay there again. First of all, the hotel is far from the downtown "action". They did provide a shuttle service, but often it would be full so we ended up taking a taxi instead. If I had known how far it was from everything we would've stayed eleswhere. The front desk girl was not helpful either. When we discovered our room looking into a construction site we asked (politely) if there were other rooms avail she said there weren't. But when we we asked someone else we were moved right away. Then, after checking out I realized I had left something in the room and called and unfortunately got the same front desk girl she said they didn't have it. But knowing it was in the room I called back and spoke to another clerk they had it. It's true they have no bar in the hotel either. We had to go some dive bar down the street to get a drink. And not to mention they had the same dead flower arrangement on display the whole time we were there. We are not the complaining type, but you expect some things when you pay $200 a night. I called and left a msg to let the manager know about our experience she never called me back.

Trip Type: Romance Review 14 of 56pretty good hotel
rooms were clean, parking was secure, building was modern. but i think the wall or ceiling needed to be thicker, in order to shut the noise from neighbors. Staff's service quality was very business-like, needs some improvement. overall, i found this hotel to be pretty good for the price. (BTW, for 'slect a state' below, i couldn't choose mine, which is District of Columbia. please add that into your list)
