Trip Type: Family Review 1 of 125So Relaxing
The Westin Grand Vancouver is a really great hotel for relaxing and being in close proximity to downtown. The room was very comfortable, and all of the staff we met were very kind. The only drawback for us was that the pool is outdoors and it was too cold outside for us to use it. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone!

Trip Type: Romance Review 6 of 125Terrific Service
From the moment we checked in our expectations were exceeded - we were upgraded to a nicer room (before they even knew it was our anniversary) and the valet and concierge were incredibly helpful. The location is okay and good for going to some nice restaurants in the area and within walking distance of Robson Street shopping; however, if we were going to do it over, we might stay at the Westin in the marina b/c the location is fabulous, right next to Stanley Park.

Comfortable and classy, The Westin Grand in Vancouver has everything a traveller needs. The location is central to all the major spots and amenities. The only downside is that it is not right on the harbour but that makes it closer to some great restaurants and shopping spots. Wealso got a very good deal for the price we paid.

Trip Type: Romance Review 8 of 125Include Internet
Everything was outstanding in this hotel. In this era, NOT having free internet in the room is ridiculous. It can't be a bandwidth issue since studies have shown most people don't use it. Since telephone service is not a revenue stream anymore, they're just trying to make money via the internet access. Many of my colleagues will be boycotting these hotels that charge for internet.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 12 of 125Difficult Stay
Our 4 night stay started on a Friday. Our room was an Executive King Suite reserved 5 months prior. Room 3100 was a top floor two room suite - King size bed that shared the bedroom wall with the Service Elevator! Our first afternoon/night - the hotel was "Out of Towels" - there was the usual - "its not us, its our vendor" excuse - but seems no one knows how to go purchase towels at a store for their guests. They said they would arrive sometime on Saturday. Which they did - but only two small hand towels - not quite the expected Starwood experience. That first night - all that was heard in the bedroom was the sound of the Service Elevator pulley equipment - sounding like a muffled lawn mower with a distinct clunk when the elevator stopped at each floor. Saturday morning we wanted to move room, but none were available for the whole weekend - so we were kind of stuck. The manager on duty said he sometimes received complaints about the room - and would try to compensate us for the experience. He was "off duty" Sunday & Monday - as were the other Managers that had any authority to do anything about it - Holiday weekend for BC - BC Day. As of Thursday - my "guarantee" of someone contacting me on Tuesday when back holiday has not occurred. The Hotel is decent enough - but the staff is POORLY trained in resolving issues. There are only 2 elevators - so if the hotel is busy - plan on up to 8 minute waits for a car. The only shining star was Jessee in the restaurant. His service was amazing, remembering our names, food choices, and coffee preferences in a sold out 250 room hotel weekend. The management and desk staff should shadow him to learn about hospitality.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 13 of 125Poor service
When we first entered our room, we noticed a very strong smoke odor in the bathroom of our room, of what was supposed to be a non-smoking hotel. When we pointed this out to the hotel staff, they were slow to place us in another room and never apologized for the problem. The room was also much smaller than expected.

Trip Type: Family Review 14 of 125Very nice hotel, good location, very helpful staff
We were very pleased with our stay. This isn't a cozy romantic getaway - it's a modern business-type hotel that also has a lot of tourists. The staff was very helpful. For example, we arrived at 8am (too early to get our room), but they offered to call us when the room was ready (which was around 11am) - I thought that was very nice to offer the notification, even when we told them we weren't in a rush.
