Trip Type: Romance Review 2 of 128Friendly staff, great location...
Hotel stay was for a weekend getaway and the staff was very helpful with "things to do" in the area. Room was small but very comfy for 2.

I really liked this hotel. The Hotel was very clean and it was close to everything. This hotel also have an open door policy to animals and I think that is really cool. I highly recommend this hotel.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 4 of 128The best hotel experience I've ever had
Very friendly and helpful hotel staff. Entire experience was wonderful. Room was so comfortable, probably more so than my own home! Conviently located a quick walk to mass transit. I would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Trip Type: Business Review 5 of 128Nice hotel in a convenient location
The Hotel was very nice overall. the room was a bit small, but very clean and comfortable. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. It's conveniently located close to the North End and Quincy Market, everything is in walking distance. It's a bit pricey, but i think that's Boston in general.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 6 of 128a quiet gem
An absolutely wonderful hotel, especially for the price. The stay exceeded our expectations in all ways, except for the rip off breakfast we had on our last day. Not worth the 16.00 a piece price, or the automatic included tip at the buffet line. However, an excellent Sunday brunch down the street at Johnnies on the Side, complete with live reggae!

Trip Type: Business Review 7 of 128Nice if you like boutiques
This was the first boutique hotel I've ever stayed in. Of course the design was great, comfortable beds, nice linens, and they have some 'green' hotel practices. What I was unhappy about was the fact that I had to pay for internet access at the 'business center' (which consisted of one computer). They did have free wireless but the signal was so weak you would get kicked off. You could pay an additional fee for a secure wireless access. Is that how boutiques work? You pay for services normally offered for free at most other hotels?

Trip Type: Business Review 8 of 128Comfortable Room, Decent Location
The rooms at the Onyx Hotel were comfortable- not particularily large, but not unreasonable. There was only one small window in the room with no view. The restaurant/bar was small in scale, but had good ambiance. The food at the restaurant was overpriced, and mediocre at best. The complimentary wine hour was a nice touch. The T North Station was within walking distance which was nice. The hotel felt as though it was sited in an area that was "between neigborhoods"- the North end was a quick walk away, as was Beacon Hill, but I couldn't say which neighborhood the Onyx actually belonged to.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 11 of 128Great Hotel at a Great Location
My boyfriend and I frequent Boston quite a bit and this was our first time staying at the Onyx Hotel. We stayed there 2 nights and we would definitely go back the next time we’re in town. The Onyx has a great location. It’s a few minute walk from Faneuil Hall and the North End. Since we were in town for a Bruin’s game, the Onyx was perfect because it was literally right next to the TD Banknorth Garden. The hotel accidentally double booked our room, and we didn’t think it was a big deal, so we didn’t bother saying anything to them, but they were very professional and came to us to apologize for the mix up. They were very gracious about their mistake. The staff was genuinely friendly and made us feel welcome in the hotel. Plus they have a complimentary wine hour, which was a very nice way to start our evening. If you’re in the market for an enjoyable stay, definitely stay at the Onyx!

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 12 of 128Great Hotel, Nice Bar, Breakfast Room Service was not impressive
Overall an excellent place to stay. Only complaint was the lousy roomservice breakfast. The food itself was tasty but sparse. The two small pieces of French Toast were served without any butter. The side of homefries was cold. No ketchup, salt, pepper were present on the tray and only one set of silverware was provided with two obvious orders of food.
