    The Langham is located in the financial district in a converted Federal Reserve Bank building. The facility has a European atmosphere and is quite elegant. What set this hotel apart from most others that I stay in (both for business and pleasure) was the quality of the service. From the housekeepers, to the pool staff and especially the "Dans" at the concierge desk, everyone bent over backwards to ensure that our stay was fantastic.

    I stay at lots of hotels and The Langham greatly exceeded my expectations. The room had a nice slanted glass wall on one side that made the room so interesting. The linens and curtains were a step above the normal. I mainly took the room so my grandchildren could enjoy the pool. Again, it was much better than I expected. The pool, hot tub and sauna were all resort quality. And the staff couldn't have been more helpful, personal and kind. Wonderful hotel! Couldn't find anything wrong with it and would go back in a moment.

Location. The Langham, Boston is located in downtown Boston, Mass., across the street from Post Office Square. The Financial District, Faneuil Marketplace and Boston Harbor are five blocks from the hotel. Harvard Square is less than four miles away.

Hotel Features. Built in 1922 as the Federal Reserve Bank, The Langham, Boston maintains marble entryways, ornate gold-leaf ceilings and Corinthian columns. The hotel is furnished with antique-style furniture and 16th-century maps. Café Fleuri serves Mediterranean cuisine in the building's six-story glass atrium. This restaurant features an open kitchen with a brick oven. On Sundays, the restaurant serves gourmet cuisine and hosts live jazz ensembles. The hotel's Julien Bar & Lounge features gilded ceilings and original N.C. Wyeth murals. The bar serves daily afternoon tea. A business center houses one computer station. A total of 12,000 square feet of function space accommodates up to 400 people. The hotel's health spa and fitness center offers facials and traditional Chinese massage treatments. The two-story, complimentary fitness center contains cardiovascular and weight-training equipment, free weights and yoga balls. A heated indoor pool is adjacent to a spa tub. Locker rooms contain saunas. Personal trainers offer fitness guidance for a fee.

Guestrooms. This nine-story property offers 318 traditionally styled guestrooms featuring signature beds with pillowtop mattresses and down comforters. Bathrooms contain Italian-marble floors, granite vanities, makeup mirrors, bathrobes, slippers and Chuan Spa toiletries. All rooms include minibars stocked with gourmet treats and beverages for a fee. Rooms include high-speed Internet access for a fee, flat-screen televisions and MP3 adaptors. Laptop-compatible, in-room safes are complimentary.

Expert Tip. The hotel's restaurant offers an all-you-can-eat chocolate bar stocked with an expansive variety of chocolate treats from September to June. Year round, the restaurant's Sunday Brunch presents a small truffles sampler.
