Hotel Features. The Kendall Hotel's lobby is warmed by a fireplace and is furnished with American memorabilia that showcases a specially commissioned clock crafted by a local artist. The hotel offers complimentary buffet-style breakfasts. The Kendall also hosts an evening wine reception Monday through Thursday at its rooftop terrace, which offers views of downtown Boston. The Black Sheep Restaurant & Bar prepares innovative American home-style dishes with a focus on organic and local ingredients. The bar features local microbrews. Wireless Internet access is complimentary throughout the hotel. A business center offers fax and photocopy services. Complimentary parking is available in the hotel's garage. Hotel guests have complimentary access to a nearby Fitcorp, a health club open Monday through Saturday.
Guestrooms. This seven-story hotel offers 73 guestrooms and four suites, all decorated with antique-reproduction furnishings. Beds are draped with Colonial-style quilts, 250-thread count cotton sheets, and both down and hypoallergenic pillows. When the Kendall Hotel's three-story, Queen Anne-style building was completed in 1895, it housed the Cambridge Fire Department's Engine 7 team, who referred to themselves as "The Black Sheep". The Kendall is a member of the Historic Hotels of America and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
