The Churchill Hotel

Very nice and great deal

This place was outstanding considering the price we paid... it was a "low" time for prices and with a holiday discount, i was blown away with the quality for the price. a *very* large and comfortable room that was beautifully decorated and impeccably maintained. the bathroom was quite small but other than that... no complaints. the staff was courteous. the only problem/surprise was that it is virtually impossible to find on-street parking so you're forced to pay $30/day for the hotel's valet parking... but since we only stayed a night it was fine and even with that included the room was an excellent deal.

very good

the hotel was very well located and the bed was super confortable, the bathroom was very spacious and very nice which is one thing i always notice in hotels, however the valet parking was 30 dollars a night and i expected it to be a good service and it was not the people were rude that park the ca, the lost my car key for a bit and at some point made me go get my car key to get my car like a block away and i found my self wondering why am i paying 30 dollars a night to do things my self.... but other than that everything else was very very good and the deal on the room price excelent.

Great Hotel

The room was beautiful, the hotel itself was very nice. The location was prime. We had a wonderful experience.

Lovely hotel - with quite poor service

This is a lovely property with nice rooms. We chose it due to the proximity to Dupont Circle & the great rate advertised on Hotels.com. Unfortunately our stay was marred by very poor service. The valet & door staff were extremely welcoming - a standard we wished was matched by the front desk staff. Even allowing that it was New Year's Eve & that the hotel was very busy, the front desk staff were curt to the point of rudeness. To be fair though, they did follow up promptly about one issue we brought to their attention, namely the excessive overheating of both our rooms. In addition, after our visit we found that our credit cards were automatically debited $50 - without our consent - for miscellaneous charges. When I phoned the hotel I was told that this was routine practice & would be reversed in about 2 business days if we had not incurred any additional costs during our stay. An apology was given for not explaining this practice when I checked in. We spent the 2 weeks prior to arriving in Washington DC touring through Georgia & the Carolinas. What we consistently found was that 2 to 3 star hotels were much better value, and offered much better service, than 3.5 & 4 star hotels. Almost all 'budget' properties include a good-quality continental breakfast, parking & wireless internet free of charge once you have paid for the room. The higher priced hotels, including The Churchill Hotel, charge for everything they possibly can - usually at exorbitant rates. Kudos to the 'value' chains that have listened to their customers & are providing a consistently good level of service, let's hope the more expensive chains will be inspired to follow suit.

Good value for money

I found the staff very pleasant and the location is great and good value for money. Would stay here again.

Churchhill Hotel

We enjoyed our stay at the Churchill. Location to Downtown was great. We walked to dinner and easily drove into DC proper. Great hotel for the price. The room was a little small, but very comfortable and furnished well. We would stay again for sure!

Great Room For the Money

The entire hotel was beautiful, and our room was HUGE! The bathroom was a little small, but still gorgeous. Everyone was polite & helpful. The hotel is right at the top of DuPont Circle-VERY convinient. We were wishing that we could stay for another night! Will definatly stay here again!

D.C. at it's finest

Washington D.C. can be a pain to drive around in, asking for directions from the hotel staff made it a breeze. They were courteous, professional and excited about their job. They hotel was grand and comes highly recommended. I would endorse this hotel to anyone staying in the downtown area, either for a weekend or for a week.

Great Location Excellent Hotel

Stayed three nights. Room was comfortable and clean. Hotel in great location and well decorated with helpful staff. Would stay again and recommend to friends/family without hesitation. Located near Italian and French restaurants within walking distances of cafes and bars. 5min walk to metro. Excellent find.
