Trip Type: Romance Review 2 of 184Old hotel, old charm but needs some updates
My husband and I stayed at the Adolphus on New Year's Eve. It has sentimental value to the both so we thought we'd bring in the New Year at this hotel. We did have a nice stay but the decor could use some updates. The furniture has stayed true to the classic French style but at times the carpet, wall paper, bathtub, looked like they needed some TLC. Overall - a great place to stay - the service is great, hotel clean, and location hard to beat.

Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 3 of 184Nice Hotel, about 4 blocks from DART
The hotel is nice, with a very old feel and beautiful sculptures on the exterior. We got a good deal on the room; the establishment wasn't full at all during that time (between Christmas and New Year's Day). Of course, with a 4 star hotel, you have to factor tips into the cost. The people were all very nice and friendly. Depending on your tastes and moods, you can dine in the French Room (proper attire required), have tea in the elegant lobby, or go down to the lower level and belly up to the bar and listen to country music. For a novelty, we decided to have the car parked and not get back into it until time to go home. We rode the DART light rail around Dallas and the larger train into Fort Worth. My only real complaint is the prolific panhandling in the area. We were asked for money and/or cigarettes at least 8 times. Once was just outside the hotel; others were at Dart stops and other areas away from the hotel. I told my husband we must look easy.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 4 of 184outstanding hotel
We arrived the day after christmas for a one night getaway to an absolutely beautiful lobby with a huge real cut Christmas tree, a person playing the grand piano and ladies in their hats having tea in the lobby. Our room was a corner one and was so lovely. The king bed was firm and the linens were very nice. We didn't leave for the rest of the night (brought snacks in) until check out the next day.

Trip Type: Romance Review 5 of 184Simply outstanding value for cost
Excellent time staying at one of Dallas' star classic hotels. The service was absolutely professional and fantastic, ranging from front desk to room service. The location is also key for easy walking to nearby restaurants/shops, another big plus. Several other reviews expressed displeasure with requirement for valet parking at $20/night. This was not a particularly big concern for me --- the Adolphus is in the middle of a big downtown area, so this is not an unreasonable cost. Several cheaper alternative lots are also available within several blocks.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 6 of 184Nice hotel - A little disappointed
The hotel was beautiful. We stayed there for our 10th Wedding Anniversary on 12/19. However, the only casual place to dine was closed for a private party which was very inconvenient since we had to then leave to eat. Also, they were having another private party in the ballroom and there were not near enough valet parking attendants to take care of the crowd. We had to wait a long time to get our car and had to walk down the block to pick it up. Not very good service for a fine hotel. Overall it was nice, but not sure if I would go there again.

Trip Type: Romance Review 7 of 184Old World Luxury
The Adolphus Hotel in Dallas is one of a vanishing breed of luxury hotels. Classic European beauty and charm with all the modern conviences. The room was beautiful and beautifully accessorized and the hotel and it's staff were superb.

Trip Type: Family Review 10 of 184Outstanding quality and value
We stayed for one weekend night right before Christmas and enjoyed everything about our stay. The accomodations, services, and food were outstanding. We had free unlimited internet in our room, for example. Finally, the value was fantastic. We had a deluxe experience for no more than I have spent at chain hotels.

The room and staff was the best. We stay here 14 years ago and it was great then, and still great now.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 14 of 184Great room for the money
Great hotel but housekeeping needs improvement. We had to call everyday for room service, someone's room service dishes sat out in the hall for 2 days; dirty crib with dirty linens sat in hall for 2 days etc.
