Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 1 of 339Very nice hotel
The rooms are comfortable and very clean. The fitness room and pool area are well-maintained as well. The only suggestion we have is that the spa area be reserved for adults in the evening. There were very young children using the spa and pool unsupervised as late as 10:00 p.m. Overall, the hotel grounds are beautiful and surrounding neighborhoods very nice.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 2 of 339Good room for the money
The hotel was fine. The pool area was very nice, though it wasn't really pool weather when I was there. The room was fine, except that there was often a ratting noise coming from the bathroom when the neighbor's heat was on, which was irritating enough that I had to close the bathroom door at night. Overall, it felt like a standard hotel room. The hotel itself is almost motel-like in layout.

Trip Type: Family Review 3 of 339Nice Hotel Stay
We stayed at this Sheraton while having a holiday getaway to Sea World. The facility is well kept and the staff was responsive to our requests. The price was appropriate based on the location and hotel. The location is excellent with easy access to the freeway, a nice mall, groceries and a half dozen restaurants. Overall we really enjoyed our visit.

Trip Type: Romance Review 6 of 339Bumpy at the Start
One week vacation in San Diego. First room had exposed carpet tacks that we did not notice until my wife was barefoot! We were moved to another room with a complimentary upgrade. The upgrade moved us from the freeway side of the bldg to the interior courtyard. As a result, our stay was in a room that was much more quiet and without exposure to the lights from I-5. The private entrance from the hotel parking lot to a shopping center with a movie theater, Blockbuster, drug store, restaurant, and a Whole Food is a big plus. Another shopping center with a grocery store, movie theater and restaurants is across the street.

The only bad thing about this hotel is the heater is not user friendly. I needed to ask for help!!!

Large room, new beds, very clean. It is being upgraded and so it was very noisy with sanding, varnishing, workers all around, leaf blowers, etc. The windows open about 2 inches, which these days is great. I prefer fresh air to the ac box.

... then you're fine; I am just a little disappointed that it was too far away from downtown La Jolla and walking is out of the question. The heated pool/jacuzzi was some sort of a consolation I guess, and the friendly bar personnel.

Loved our room that the hotel upgraded free of charge, so we had a beautiful view. Staff was friendly, the room cozy...overall a great experience!

Trip Type: Family Review 13 of 339Excellent Staff
I left my telephone at the hotel and called on Friday night when I returned home. The hotel staff lost and found was excellent they returned my call immediately and arranged to ship this charger to me. They followed up on Sunday and on Monday morning the telephne charger was at my front door. The service was superior. I highly recommend this hotel.

Pleasant experience of services and personnel, from arrival at the reception until departure. The collocated restaurant is very good, and although the general prices may be a little steep the 50%-off coupon sweetened the deal. (The 'special' was excellent!) Note: This used to be a Renaissance Hotel until spring of 2007.
