Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 1 of 307Service needs improvement
We were on the 14th floor and never did get hot water for early morning showers. We requested wake-up call for 4:30am and got what they said was second call at 4:40...I was up at 4:15 trying to get hot water. At 11Pm night before we were awakened by someone repeatedly knocking on our door. Couldn't understand what he was saying so ignored it. Few minutes later a phone call asking did we request ?? Couldn't understand that either, but since we hadn't req'd anything but a wake call at 4:30am, it was another hotel error. Restaurant bar food was overpriced especially since food was not hot. Hamburgers are usually hot. Anyway, beds were great, very quiet and close to airport, that is why I can recommend it.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 3 of 307Great stay, not so great food!
We had a great experience at the Sheraton Gateway. The only thing that was truly dissapointing was the quality and price of the food. We have had better tasting food at McDonalds.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 4 of 307Good location if you travel thru airline
Close to airport and convenient for traveler from LAX. expensive restaurant in the lobby and more for business traveler Valet parking across the back door slight problem with tub drain. overall, not bad if you travel in and out LAX.

Trip Type: Family Review 6 of 307Needs better mattresses
The hotel lobby, bar etc very nice but the mattressess were beyond terrible. My husband and I had little to no sleep because the beds were like cement. It definitely defeated the purpose of staying in a hotel so we could catch an early flight and arrive at our destination rested. The price was decent but comfort was sadly lacking. Definitely would not stay there again.

Trip Type: Business Review 7 of 307comfortable and clean, good value
The only thing was that the TV did not work and by the time we found that out, we were tucked into bed. We also had difficulty with the internet--could not access it the following day--but hotel took the charge off. No wireless connection.

Trip Type: Business Review 11 of 307Great
The hotel being upgraded so alot of work going on through the day. The only thing I did not like was we had to use the Service Elevator which was located down some weird halls. Not the best opition for a women staying in a hotel alone.

Trip Type: Business Review 12 of 307Exactly what was required.
I needed the ideal hotel at LAX for an overnight stay before a cross-country business trip. The Sheraton Gateway proved to fit the bill perfectly. Although the Shuttle Bus was on time and managed to somehow maneuver its way in and out of the heavily populated (by other buses) pick-up spot at the terminal, the ride to the hotel was so short I actually walked the reverse route in the morning back to terminal one - it took about 8 minutes. Check-in was quick...the elevators were still under renovation, so it was necessary to use the service elevators - not plush of course, but no big deal. Room service took 30 minutes, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the only downer was the TV was old and not HD! I guess that just goes to show you how many hotels feature flat-panels in the rooms these days. In all in, like I said in the title, I needed a comfortable, convenient one-night stay and the Sheraton gateway proved to be exactly what was required.

Trip Type: Family Review 13 of 307Sheraton Gateway - Great location, great hotel
We got this hotel for a very low price - because the pool was closed and the elevators were slow. They were in the process of upgrading all the elevators - which will be great when it is done. They are also making major renovations to the pool, so don't expect to swim. Other than that, the hotel is beautifully appointed and the staff went out of their way to help us with shuttles, taxis and information. Great food! They have a wonderful buffet and steak house. The beds were very comfy, rooms large - would definitely stay there again!

I truly enjoyed the hotel. The only problem that I had was parking. Parking was located behind the hotel and there was no security walking around. It was dark and I was alone I was concerned.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 15 of 307Great Experience
I have stayed in a number of hotels around LAX and this is by far one of the better experiences I have had, in particular for the money paid/spent. The staff at this hotel are a delight. Everyone is very friendly and helpful and just kind/hospitable. The airport shuttle did not take forever on either end of my trip as some of them do, and I left very early and have in the past been made to feel like a royal pain in the rear for doing so and taking the shuttle...again, the staff were a delight. I ordered room service and the food was surprisingly good and I felt a decent price for the money spent. The service was fast and went above and beyond. The gym at this hotel is also among the best of all the hotel gyms I have ever worked out in. It is impeccably CLEAN, there were towels, water and very state of the art and nice equipment. My only gripe with the place are the two things everyone else has already said, the elvators are slow...which they are in the midst of fixing (although this was not a problem for me as I took the service elevators and they were fine), and the tubs are in need of some updating/repair. The tubs are just old, and the shower heads are very LOW, which kind of sucks for someone my height (5'11"). I will definitely come back...if for nothing else for the fitness facilities. It is great to see a "real" facility versus a broom closet with a crappy treadmill claiming to be one!
