I spent a couple of nights there and never got the room service and my bed never was changed and or spreaded. There was a liquing pipe in the bathroom. The rest of the place is ok, beds are very confortable aand the people encharged is kind.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 2 of 40No Frills
No Frills, but worth the rate. Large room with small kitchenette. Conveniently located close to the beach. Considering your at the beach all day and just need a place to put your head down at night, this place is it!

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 3 of 40Yuck!
My 5 year old walked into the room and said "this is the worst hotel ever"! She immediately went into the bathroom and used it, only to find no toilet paper...anywhere. Nothing on the roll or under the sink....My husband went in search of toilet paper, and came back with one roll, which was given to him at the office with the comment "sorry, our room cleaning staff is not very good". While I could go on for days about the horrible condition of this room, I think that little scenerio is telling enough!

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 5 of 40Cubic Zirconia in the Rough...
The location of this hotel is great. just a walking distance from ft lauderdale beach and all the shops and bars. Parking is a bit of a problem so unless u plan to leave the car at the hotel, dont expect to find a parking space at night. The utensils in the room were filthy and the a/c vent was broken so it practically was blowing on the floor. Basically this is a hotel to sleep in and nothing more.

Trip Type: Romance Review 6 of 40Not really good
This hotel wasn't what i saw on the pics. It was old, closets were broken, felt more like a motel than a hotel. I will not be staying on that hotel again.

Trip Type: Business Review 7 of 40The Hotel is really not that bad - but make sure you don't stay in room 113
I checked in and the smell of mold in room 113 had to be beyond Hazmat approved levels - the Air Conditioner worked, but the directional vent was broken, and only hung inside the unit by shear luck. Some brilliant 'Handy Andy' decided to use styrofoam and painters tape to close the gap between the AC sleeve and the AC unit - nice touch. There was a hole in the plaster ceiling, and instead of patching it with Durabond, he/she decided that clear packing tape would do the trick - another nice touch. The blinds need to be replaced because they are too long and were falling out of the tracks. The vanity was so full of black mold inside that the Broward County Health Dept. would for sure have a field day with this place. Basically, the room needs to first be be condemned, then gutted and redone before anyone else is allowed to go inside. I cannot believe they (the owners) actually rent this room out, nor do I believe anyone would stay in it, and sure as the sun rises, I saw someone going in and out of there and thought to myself, hmmm, can they NOT smell the mold?? I would almost sleep anywhere, but room 113 was like something out of a Steven King novel. The staff was VERY nice - they moved me to room 312 after I brought them inside the room - Room 312, which was much larger and obviously completely redone, had an incredibly comfortable bed, and the AC unit was BRAND NEW complete with a THERMOSTAT!! What a concept. The room was clean, had great water pressure, and never went cold like other hotels - in fact, the water was so hot I was amazed - but like room 113, the blinds were too long and would get stuck on the window sill and you would have to adjust them to get total privacy and keep the light out - whomever installed them didn't trim them to the correct length. All in all, you get what you pay for and the price, which was about half the price than anywhere else, was fine for me once they moved me to 312. The drawback were the Cubans, who were in large groups atten

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 8 of 40Needs better customer service and cleanliness
I wasn't expecting it to be the best hotel out there. At first, it was actually what I thought, but when they welcomed me with a "you better have a reservation because we have no rooms available", it left much to be desired. The last room was indeed mine. I had asked for two separate beds, and they gave me one king because they didn't have any rooms left. They did not try to make up for it in any way and it was already around 11pm. Oh well, I had to stay on the same bed with some relatives. The room smelled like cigarettes all around, which I had specified I wanted non-smoking. The hotel rep said they had no control over it when I complained through hotels.com, and not only that but they lied to the hotels.com rep when I complained and they called the hotel to ask what happened. The Sea Beach Plaza hotel rep (a lady) told hotels.com that they offered me another room but that I declined their offer, which is false. A male attendant actually checked me in and I saw that he was alone, there were no rooms left, and they did not give me another choice because they had no rooms left. Oh well. At least I thought I could have a good night sleep. Didn't happen either, there was a lot of noise from outside, there were kids making noise, people downstairs, next door, and even noises around the floor and walls. I didn't want to find out what these noises were, but it stopped when I turned the lights on. Anyway, I will not stay at this place again, and I would not recommend unless they improve their customer service and the maintenance of their rooms.

This hotel needs a sign out front for per half hour rate. Even though the room was clean, it smelt of stale cigerettes. The bed was comfy but small.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 10 of 40Echos of Better Days In a Bygone Era
I am conflicted in writing this review because I don't want to sound misleading when I say that this hotel fulfills its purpose. It is a kitchy place by the beach where a group of friends can just hang loose and have a convenient place to sleep and get a hot shower. Not every Florida vacation experience has to be romantic, idyllic and luxurious. This place is perfect for a bunch of college kids on a road trip, or a family of six with lots of little kids. The room was clean, kitchen complete with working fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and long kitchen counter. Our bathroom ceiling did have a small area where it was cracked and buckeling, the shower fawcett was broken, the linens were well worn, the remote contol did not work, the vertical blinds were falling apart, there was a broken clock on the wall, all things that could be fixed if the owners read this review. On the flip side, there is plenty of storage space and a pleasant walk to the beach. It just depends on who you are -if you are not honeymooning, or you're not coming from the safe environs of the country club lifestyle, then save yourself the luxury tax and plop down at this low key motel. You'll have fun!

Trip Type: Family Review 11 of 40Don't Expect Much
This is a much older hotel surrounded by more modern places. The wireless Internet didn't work in my room. The walls were thin and the TV remote didn't work. The curtains weren't in good shape so light came in from the light outside the window. Only benefit was being very close to the beach.

The Sea Beach Plaza was very nice. The owner and people working there aim to please. They keep the rooms very clean and smelling nice. It was very homey and right around the corner from the beach. I will go back there again.

I would not stay at this hotel again, not even for a quick overnight when I just need a bed and a shower.

Trip Type: Business Review 14 of 40needs just a few easy changes
I loved the free internet and little kitchen. The room needs some major TLC. The bed spread looked highly used, lighting was very dim.. a different light bulb can easily solve that problem. The worst was the swarm of termites in the room that hung out next to the window and on the dining table.. most were dead but some were alive and fllying! The AC works great but noisy, however, the walls are solid and you can't hear your neighbors, unless they are outside your door. I would sum it up as saying if the place didn't have bugs, then it is highly recommended for that price.
