Trip Type: Not Provided Review 1 of 70Great location
Location near top of Las Ramblas and near tourist bus stop. Many restaurants within walking distance. Hotel staff very helpful.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 2 of 70Lack of Charm
The front desk staff was very aloof. There daily construction, I imagine remodelling of some type that made for loud drill, sawing, and pounding from 10 am to 6 pm. The rooms were cute and stylish.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 3 of 70perfect location
We really enjoyed our stay in Barcelona. The Royal RAmblas Hotel was located in the heart of old Barcelona. We were able to walk to a number of locations and had no trouble using the metro from the hotel.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 5 of 70Great room for the price
In an excellent location, the hotel also met our requirement for three single beds. It was an excellent stay while we waited for the arrival of our cruise ship.

Trip Type: Romance Review 7 of 70Just okay
The hotel was fine, but hardly could rate as a four star facility. Our "superior" was small, but clean, if you don't count finding a prior occupant's underwear in the drawer as a negative. The bed, pillows and towels were nice and the room even had a nice flat panel television; though, only three of the stations were in English (some limited versions of the BBC, CNN and CNBC). Avoid the restaurant next door, as the food is average and the service terrible. Hotel staff was friendly at check-in. They offered us no advice about places to visit or good restaurants, and were always on the phone when we tried to ask later. After that, our only request was for a 120V adapter (which their brochures suggests are available for guests), but for three continuous days they were always checked out by other guests. On the bright side, the location is very convenient. But light sleepers be warned: do not expect a lot of sleep as it is very loud outside and the double windows only muffle the noise. Overall, this hotel was not a good value for the price and I personally would not stay there again.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 8 of 70An excellent choice for those wishing to be on La Rambla
Needing a room for three people and not having been to BCN before, I booked this hotel aware that it was slightly more expensive than other options but likely a good balance between for comfort, cost, and location. My expectations were certainly met and exceeded, in no small part to the excellent service provided by the hotel staff. When asking about transportation to Montserrat, the front desk staffmember was helpful and courteous - including locating and labeling a map from the hotel to the subway to the train station and then printing train schedules. (This was more than I'd requested or expected but very, very welcome assistance.) The room was tidy and comfortable, although not as nice/spiffy as the lobby might suggest (as is commonly the case), and -importantly- very quiet despite the late night revelry on La Rambla. While I happened to find the roving mass of what seemed every 20-30 year old in Europe off-putting, others might find this exhilarating; for those people, this is a perfect hotel: safe, reasonably-priced, quiet, tidy, comfortable, and centrally-located.

Trip Type: Family Review 9 of 70A little too pricey
The room was very plain and a bit austere for the price. This was our "splurge" night in Barcelona and although the location was absolutely perfect (right in the thick of the fun and games of Las Ramblas) we were disappointed by the minimalism of the room furnishings

Excellent location, nice room(s) and friendly service. Our room was available much earlier that the stated time which enabled us to leave our luggage in the room and begin enjoying Barcellona.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 13 of 70Great hotel near the action
Upgraded room was quiet, even though it faced Las Ramblas. Excellent location for tourists-many restaurants, shops, convenience to tourist buses, as well as Aerobus. Would recommend.

Trip Type: Family Review 14 of 70Outstanding hotel in a great location
This is the perfect hotel to stay in when you visit Barcelona. The hotel staff was courteous and very accommodating. I requested an iron for a dress shirt and it was delivered in 10 minutes. They were very knowledgeable about all of the local attractions and shops and more than willing to help. The location could not be better, right in the middle of the Ramblas. Despite the fact that we were right in the heart of all the action, the hotel windows are well insulated and we had no problem sleeping - during the day or night! If you visit Barcelona, this is your hotel!
