Roosevelt Hotel New York

A wonderful stay....

We'd arrived a bit earlier than the regular check-in time. They'd had our room ready, but also suggested they could easily upgrade to a nicer room. This was just great. Everyone was very kind and professional. We'd had a great stay.

Lovely hotel

The hotel is lovely, with lots of conveniences and right around the corner from Grand Central Station - an easy walk to Times Square and Rockefeller Center, even in the cold. The staff were wonderful and the service was fantastic. A great place to stay with the family. With this being New York, expect rooms to be on the smaller side, but perfectly acceptable.

Great Hotel

The lobby was beautiful, especially with the holiday decorations. We felt like stopping to look around every time we had to pass through it. The service was great. Valet had our car ready for us within 5 minutes of calling for it. The room was small as expected, but was comfortable and clean. The bed was very comfortable. My only complaint is that the shower water temperature would spontaneously change a little bit. The bathroom wasn't as nice as the rest of the room (the fixtures were old) but it was clean. We were very happy to find such a good hotel at such a great price. We hope to stay there again sometime.

Great hotel for the money

Everything was great except we waited an hour to check in because our room was not ready.

Needs Improvement

The hotel is in a great location, close to times square and great central station. However, for the price the rooms are very small and less comfortable. The sports facility is very useful and has a reasonable variety of tools for workout.

Awesome Experience

What an awesome week spent in New York City bringing in 2009. I have stayed in many big cities in the past and have loved the city but the hotel turned my stay into a disaster but The Roosevelt surpassed any big city hotel (for the price). If you can't afford $500 for a night hotel then this is the place to be. My Brother, his fiance, my wife, and I stayed there for five days and each day was more pleasant than the one prior. From the room service to the bell hops everyone went above and beyond to ensure we were taken care of. At no time did I feel my needs did not come first. When they were talking to me, it was me and only me that mattered at that time. Thank you Roosevelt staff and Hotel.com for ending my 2008 and bringing in my 2009 with perfection and class. Cleanliness of room was always spotless the only reason I gave condition and maintenance a 4 in my rating is because it's an older hotel so the bathroom has an older feel and heater was really hot when you turned it on, almost to the point of suffocating but we loved the stay. You have to stay here, I'm telling you (oh and I'm military so I'll stay in almost anything) you will love this hotel and it's staff. One of the most beautiful hotel lobbies in New York. I have to say this... people were so comfortable sitting in the lobby they fell asleep while waiting on the rest of their party ot come downstairs. Funniest thing!

Beautiful lobby, our room was slightly disappointing, as the closet had a strong peculiar smell...otherwise everything was wonderful.

Be prepared for paying extras

Be prepared for $50 to $60 a day for parking, and Valet. Also I had to pay extra for a little bit of a larger room due to needing a small cot in it which I was previously told would be fine in the room I had. So after the high price as it is, I had an extra bill of $280 with taxes for only 2 nights.

Great room for the money

The hotel was nice and clean. The room was small but very comfortable. It is located in walking distance to everything. It is worth the money for the time you spend in your room which is not much time at all. The staff was very friendly. Great hotel for your stay in New York.
