Trip Type: Not Provided Review 1 of 119ehhhhh
Location of the hotel can't be beat... but the hotel itself is in an ancient building with small rooms and a really scary elevator. Also we were not left a full roll of toilet paper and I went to look under the sink to see if there was more and the cabinet door fell right off... also the shower was broken so you could not adjust the temperature of the water and of course it was stuck on absolutely scalding. When I brought this to the attention of the woman at the front desk she really didn't care... she was also there the night before and then the next morning and she looked like she needed more rest. Worth the money compared to everywhere else but barely.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 2 of 119ALWAYS BRING YOUR PRINTOUT WITH YOU
For the price in the city, the rate was great, historic and convenient. However, the service sucked. We were charge an additional $20 for a 2double bed in which we had booked for and paid for anyway. We gave conformation # and all then was told we only reserved a single. My cell was dead from extensive use prior and they would not let me use their phone or contact hotels.com to rectafy the situation. I had to pay the money due to it being my birthday and i was 300 miles from home. I do not reccomend this hotel to anyone. Y! there should never be an additional charge for a room except insidentals or phone etc..... UNHAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 119Great Rooms, Nice free breakfast, great rates
Cons: The elevator is terrible. Narrow, dingy and old. You will see the front of the hotel and think "what have i gotten myself into." The hotel lobby and stairwells/hallways need work. The rooms really need their own temprature regulator. Pros: The Rodeway Inn is clean, safe, and the rooms are BRILLIANT. Up to the standard of any Holiday inn Express. The beds are excellent. You get a free continental breakfast with donuts, bagels, toast, bread, cheerios, rasin bran, milk, orange juice, hard boiled eggs, and fruit. This hotel is about an 8 min walk from the Philadelphia convention center and the 30th street train station. Also very local to a host of Bars and resturants, the liberty bell, Penns landing, Independance hall and more, all within walking distance. You also get complimentary toilet items such as a comb, shampoo, soap, shaving foam and even a tampon. Nice touch. They also put Hersheys kisses on your pillow. If you want an great economical, convenient room that is very cozy, choose this hotel. Overlook the state of the foyer and elevator and you are in business.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 4 of 119Decent room for the money
Tiny storefront entrance into a dimly lit lobby. Staff was nice. Validated parking in the garage across the street for $10.50/24 hours. Elevator was working when I stayed there. It is very much cramped. With a garment bag and a duffel bag, I had to shuffle in sideways and manipulate the luggage to get in. The elevator also has doors on both sides, one of which is manual. Certainly not the highest quality. The room itself was functional. Small but enough for one person, maybe two. There was a mini-fridge with 2 little bottles of water, microwave, TV with cable, desk. Bathroom was tiny and cramped, yet again, functional. I had to stand over the corner of the sink because the towel rack was right by your shoulder level. Overall, reminded me of a cramped, old single college apartment. Comfortable bed and pillows, though.

This is a great place to stay with in the city. Parking is a problem and costly.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 6 of 119Nice and cozy
All in all the hotel was nice and cozy....the room were very comfortable and I would stay there again and recommend it to someone else...the only problem was the room was a little chilly...the the staff and continental breakfast made up for that.....

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 7 of 119Great Room for the money
The hotel itself is in a historic building so it will not be five star. The room was large and very clean. There was a microwave and refrigerator with complimentary water. The continental breakfast was great. The hotel is situated in the center of town near everything about 5 blocks from the Market East train station. The block itself was the equivelant to Madison Ave in NYC. The only complaint was there was very little heat and the room was very cold.

The room was nice enough, but was cold and there was no way to self-regulate the heat. the staff were very nices and accomodating, especially since it was Thanksgiving Eve. For location and price, I was quite satisfied.

Trip Type: Romance Review 10 of 119i knew about the elevator
i read other reviews before i booked. the elevator was fixed right before my arrival, but i didn't use it. my room was on the 5th floor and it didn't hurt to walk up the stairs....we all need some exercise anyway. the room was adorable and quaint. perfect for the price in the heart of a safe philly neighborhood.

Trip Type: Business Review 12 of 119Great location to convention center, liked computer in lobby
elevator broken, hot water not working when I arrived, rooms were kept at over seventy five degrees at night so it was a sauna; one rude front desk receptionist. Liked the computer in the lobby, Tv worked fine, free water in refridgerator fine.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 13 of 119Decent accomodations at modest cost.
Renovated townhouse-style in-city hotel, marred only by its elevator being out of order, awaiting replacement part Oct 20, 2008. Using the one narrow stairway was a burden. Reservation included access to modest cost parking garage across the street, about 1/4 of charges at nearby big-name hotels.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 15 of 119Hotel Experience
The hotel itself was beautiful. The room was very nice. Parking was not convenient. You had to park across the street in a parking garage and drag you luggage across the street to the hotel. During our stay the elevator was out and we had to walk six flights of stairs. Advertisement states 5 blocks from attractions - 5 blocks is a lot farther than you think. I do not feel it was convenient to the downtown attractions. Staff was courteous but not forth coming with information. They did not tell us they needed to validate the parking to get the discounted rate.
