Great room & location for the money

The hotel is very close to Waikiki Beach, convenience stores, foods, and transportation services. Very convenient if you don't want to worry about having a car etc.

"Stay Away"

Don't let the lobby fool you. Once we walked up to the room we immediately told the kids to leave their shoes on and within 20 minutes we were checking in at a different hotel a block away. It wasn't the fact that it was extremely out dated but the carpets and couches were filthy and we were afraid to even turn down the beds. It was extremely stuffy and the cooling system didn't even blow cool air. We will not return to this hotel.

Awesome location, but hotel needs improvement

Hotel was a not kept up as well as it should, old TV, furniture and appliances made it feel like your back in the 80's, but overall was clean. Parking was excellent and easy to access, also location was awesome with a 5 minute walk to the beach.

Very good hotel for the price

Elevators were VERY slow. Sometimes waited for over 10 minutes and stairwell was locked going up (could use going down). Excellent access to beach. Very good bang for the buck. Housekeeping staff was helpful and nice. Front desk weak - slow but nice. Kids had a great time. Well stocked kitchen, but no dishwasher :(.

Great hotel for price

We were up on the 34th floor, with mountain view, and it was great! Loved having the morning sun! The night view of the lights were great too! The walk to the beach was just a hop skip and away! The pool area was nice, with all the barbeques available to use too. We like this hotel because of having the kitchenettes and the laundry facilities available. The staff was very helpful and also having the activity agent available was really nice. We are a family of 4, now all adults, and did just fine. I would recomend this hotel to anyone!

Needs Improvement

If you like sleeping with roaches this place is for you. On a positive side, the staff did relocate us to a much better ResortQuest property after we continued having bug issues for several days.

Good for basic needs

We stayed at the Wakaii Banyan over the Thanksgiving holidays in order to visit friends. The hotel is fairly close to the beach and many other downtown attractions. Our room had an ocean view, but was partially obstructed by another hotel tower. The room was clean and quiet, but dated and I found the bed very hard for my taste. Also, the bedroom is open to the rest of the space with only a movable partition for privacy. The pool and hottub area was clean and adequete for our needs, but not much to look at. It was very convinient to have the full kitchen in order to save some money on eating out. The staff was friendly and helpful. Overall, I would recommend this hotel as a basic, cost-effective option for staying in Honolulu, but those looking for a little more luxury will find it lacking.

Great room for the money

I was nervous about the hotel as I got it real cheap. But the rooms were big and clean. The hotel was old and the age shows but is well maintained. All in all,great value for money.
