Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 683COOL and a GREAT Location
This hotel was once the hottest place in town and once in the lobby you can see why. It's still cool, only the movie stars and other celebs have moved a few blocks away, which means you get a better price. Yes, the rooms are tiny as are the bathrooms, but this is NY...what are you doing in your room anyway. It's a great place for singles or couples, but maybe not families as the rooms are REALLY that small. Some doors could use repainting in the rooms, but I like it anyway. Broadway shows and Times Square are just a few feet away and good, cheap eats are all nearby as well (Cafe Edison next door is a MUST).

Trip Type: Family Review 7 of 683Needs Improvement
If all you're looking for only a place to sleep, this is a good place. It's close to Time Square. If you plan on spending time in the room, the room was exceptionally small. Not very much room for 3 people to move around without bumping into each other. Rooms were cleaned daily. Hotel is being remodeled on the outside, so looking out windows was obstructed.

For accessing the major sights and offices in Manhattan, this is the best location for the price.

Trip Type: Business Review 10 of 683A Pleasant Surprise
I booked this room with a bit of trepidation -- thie price was good but this was the "hot" hotel 15+ years ago so I wondered if it had gone downhill. I needn't have worried. The rooms are as small as I remember, but the hotel has been well-maintained. It was a great deal.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 11 of 683Great Location, Decent Accommodations
We enjoyed staying at the Paramount because of the location. The room was small but was clean and comfortable. Room service was quick and easy.

Trip Type: Family Review 12 of 683Great Room / LOCATION for the Money I Paid.
Just be sure you can get up and down from a bed that is flat on the floor. This was the only down-fall I found to this hotel - the beds are flat on the floor. I'm still capable of getting up and down from so low but porbably won't be much longer.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 13 of 683Location yes, Service no
We booked these rooms for a birthday party. I'd phoned ahead to request plates, silverware etc. in the rooms for birthday cake and was told that this would not be possible. I brought my own plates but forgot silverware, but when I went down to the front desk to request some forks I was told that the kitchen was closed and -- amazingly, to my mind -- no one on the desk staff had any access to silverware. I had to go next door to the pizza parlor and beg some plastic forks, but not before going into the hotel bar to ask if he had any silverware. The bartender literally sneered at me. Look, this is a great location if you're going in for the theater, and if the once thrilling design is looking a little worn, well, so be it. But the lack of care once you've checked in was pretty lousy, I thought.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 14 of 683Extremely small room even when "upgraded" to Queen for $30 more a night. Shortage of space, no room for anything in bathroom.
The Paramount skimps on everything. Flimsy shower curtain blows in on you during shower, water gets all over bathroom floor. One small shelf in bathroom hardly holds anything. Bed about 6 inches off floor. Not very comfortable mattress. Both elevator call lights on 4th floor burned out. Lobby is dim and not very welcoming. No coffee shop other than small Dean & DeLuca next door. I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 15 of 683TINY room even "upgraded" for $30 more to "queen." Uncomfortable mattress. All-around dismal experience.
Nowhere to put anything in bathroom other than one small shelf. Flimsy shower curtain tht blows in on you during shower, allows water to get all over bathroom floor. Teeny tiny "closet" about 12 feet wide with small drawers. Single room so small you have to walk sideways to get around bed. Upgraded to queen room for $30 more a night just to have a tad more space. Lobby is dark; they seem to save on light bulbs. No coffee shop, only a Dean & Deluca small shop next door. I ate at the Edison coffee shop down the street. Elevator call lights both burned out on 4th floor. These were the six most uncomfortable nights I've ever spent in any hotel. Definitely not worth the money. I wish I had checked another hotel before booking the Paramount. I would never recommend it to my worst enemy.
