Orchard Hotel

Excellent location and value

This San Francisco hotel, halfway up Nob Hill, features wonderfully comfortable beds, spacious bathrooms, and a great location. As a woman traveling alone, I was especially delighted with the easy access to restaurants, and the various sites I was visiting on business. My biggest disappointment was the Internet access which was slow as molasses. I tried both wireless and cable access with no difference. I hope the Orchard Hotel managers will address this issue quickly as for many of us this is a deal-breaker. However, I would indeed stay again at this hotel -- as long as Internet access was not essential.

Great Value for San Francisco

Near Union Square, great value.

An Oasis!

What a joy! Just two blocks off Union Square and within a hundred or so feet from the Stockton Street Garage (best parking deal in town). The most comfortable bed with great linens, terry towels, made us feel great. We ate at the organic restaurant in the hotel (Daffodil) - lovely as well. Free DVD rentals, which came in handy for a young guest we had for the evening. Bathroom large and clean. What one expects from a 4-star hotel. And great hotels.com price!

Great room

You won't find a better room for the money. There are plenty of 5 star hotels in the city, but you pay out the a$$ for them. Friendly staff, rooms were clean & nice and comfortable beds. Location is good - only minutes away from most anything you want to do.

Very Enjoyable

This hotel was beautiful, comfortable, and in a great location. The room was incredibly quiet at night. It had every amenity we needed including free internet access in our room and coffee maker -- 2 items my sister staying at a 4-star hotel nearby didn't have.

Quiet and Pleasant Experience

This was a lovely little hotel that was so quiet I forgot that I was staying in a hotel when I was there. While the location is a little above Union Square, it is just a short walk to get there. We found a charming and romantic restaurant right across the street that my husband and I enjoyed. We would definitely return to this little gem.

A nice, very servicable hotel at a great rate!

We were a bit apprehensive about The Orchard, but all reviews were positive, so at the rate offered, we thought we'd try it - and were not disappointed! The location cannot be beat -- right smack in the middle of everything we wanted to see. The room was a good size, the bathroom fine as well. Everything was very clean, housekeeping was terrific (always a clean and/or turned down room) and the front desk was helpful. The only downside for us was the lobby and the hotel restaurant... the lobby needs some spiffing up -- really. And the restaurant was really an afterthought -- food was okay but we waited sooo long and the prices were high for what you got. We still would stay here again tho' -- give it a try.

Great hotel, great location

Friendly staff, very comfortable and quiet room, well appointed. Two doors from cable car, 2 blocks down to Union Square.
