Trip Type: Special Event Review 3 of 447outstanding hotel in every respect
Great location, every del Rio employee we crossed was extremely polite and service minded, rooms were perfect for us as and beds very comfortable, food in hotel resteraunt was 'excellent', room service was very good and timely. Can't say enough good things about this hotel -and I was skeptical and worried. We reserved 2 rooms on a very busy weekend and the managed to get us next door -front desk was so nice. First time to use Hotel.com and I was worried, but we had absolutely no problems with our reservation.

Trip Type: Family Review 8 of 447Location, location, location!
This is an older, historic hotel, but the view was fabulous. I spent two days during Christmas week there with my elderly mother. She was able to sit on the balcony and enjoy the lights and scenery of the river without having to fight the crowds in a wheelchair. The hotel is quite expensive for you get, but the views/scenery was great.

Trip Type: Family Review 9 of 447Excellent Hotel
Hotel stay was excellent! The rooms were spacious and very clean. Our room was a few yards from the Riverwalk. Parking was the only issue. It cost 28 dollars a day for valet parking. I parked across the street of the hotel in a parking garage for 7.50 a day. Other than the parking issue, our stay was very enjoyable.

You can't beat walking out of the hotel on to the River Walk for drinks or food. There isn't much else to do in San Antonio but if you have time, I recommend the missions in the South. They are pretty cool, better than the Alamo. Parking isn't so great, but we never needed the car after we arrived. We parked it in the lot across the street for $7 a day.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 11 of 447GREAT STAY!!
We love everything about this hotel. Clean, Confort surounding, Great location to everthing, both up and down on the riverwalk. They were helpful to us. The only thing we were kinda unhappy about was the price of room service. We paid 70.00 dollas for 4 sandwiches and chips and a side salad, witch contain of lettus and one slice of tomatoe. We never knew that the items in the icebox was free. They told my husband when he was checking us out. But over all WE all had a great time and would stay again..

Trip Type: Romance Review 12 of 447Good Location, good service - noise issues
We stayed at the La Mansion right before Christmas. The hotel was very busy but all of the staff members we dealt with were very accomodating and friendly. We checked in late and there was still some question as to whether our room was ready. The front desk attendant gave us drink vouchers for the lounge and personally went up to check on our room. The room was nice and cozy, though a little small and non-descript for the price. Also, we had a family with very noisy children in the room right next door. We have kids ourselves so we understand family travel, but this hotel is not conducive to a mixed crowd due to the layout of the air vents and the proximity of the rooms. We could hear pretty much every sound coming from the room next to us due to the very large air vent in our bathroom. You could also actually SEE through this vent into the adjoining bathroom. Not that we were trying to look, but the vent is right at eye level and it's huge. My husband and I were there for a romantic retreat so the family next door might have gotten a little noise from our side as well. The beds have large headboards that aren't very well secured. Paint your own picture.. Bottom line, nice hotel, great staff and location but if you're looking for privacy OR if you're traveling with kids, make your needs known at the desk beforehand. Overall, we'd definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.

Trip Type: Romance Review 13 of 447Outstanding
The ambiance and the character of this hotel was outstanding! Great attention to detail in preserving the hotel's historic value: wooden crossbeams in the ceiling, inner courtyard preserved the character of the building's earlier design. Great location: a few steps away from the river. Just one word of caution: sound seemed to travel freely from outside the room.

Trip Type: Romance Review 14 of 447Costly But Definitely Pampered
Our stay at the Omni La Mansion del Rio was okay. Despite all of the issues that we had, I must admit the attention they pay to their guests is wonderful. The staff make every effort to immediately address and rectify any issues guests may encounter. Although we were upgraded to a riverview room at no extra cost, the room we stayed in was very small and not all what we expected. The picture on the internet is deceiving. The movies we bought went out several times but they accommodated us by crediting the movie charges. We practically froze the first night because the heater did not work but they did fix it the next morning. The breakfast was costly but excellent. Overall, the stay was nice...costly but nice.

Trip Type: Romance Review 15 of 447Great Location, but,,,,,
Great location on the riverwalk but probably not worth the money. Service was good except the day that housekeeping fogot to make up our room which we discovered only when we got back that evening. A decent hotel but we will probably try somewhere else next time.
