convenient but outdated

loved the location, near everything.Hotel staff really efficient. Decor outdated Bathroom needs updating

Great Manhatten Hotel

The New York Helmsley exceeded our expectations. Great price, especially during the holidays. Location was good...only a block or two to the Metro stop, which took us directly to Broadway for our show. Rooms are large, comfortable and very clean. Everything was great. We'd definitely stay here again when we visit NYC.

Excellent Hotel!

My husband and I stayed at the Helmsley this past weekend and we loved it! It will be our new hotel to stay in when we travel to NYC. The staff was extremely nice and it was very clean and updated. My husband has stayed in many different hotels in NYC and thought the Helmsley was fantastic. We would highly recommend this hotel!

Great Price for December in NYC

Rooms were clean and spacious enough for the family. Close to all major attractions in the mid-town area.

Location, location, location!

The Helmsley Hotel on 42nd and 3rd proved to be the allaround best hotel I have stayed in for the holiday season in years. The proximity to Grand Central Station, the airport shuttle and the theater district proved invaluable and convenient. The hotel staff were the friendliest I have experienced.

Outstanding Hotel

Wonderful hotel all around. The staff is very helpful and accommodating. From the front desk to the bellman to the wait staff in the bar and restaurant....this is where we will stay next time! Great value, great location.

Hooray for Helmsley

A very pleasant place right next to everything. We were able to stroll to 5th Avenue shopping, Rockafeller Center, Time Square, Subways, Grand Central, and subways.

Weekend getaway

What sells the hotel is the service which is A-1 and that is exceptional for NYC. The location is good for 5th Ave shopping if you like to walk. Taxis are prompt, busses run regularly and the subway is 1 block (on the same side ) from the hotel. On a busy traffic day, it's most convenient to take the S or 7 subways between the hotel and Times Square Our only negative was that the room was hot and the heat did not seem to come on or off so we cracked a window overnight (on the 35th floor). The hot water was also out for about an hour on our checkout day but it did not hamper our schedule and they added on to checkout time. It had been over 10 years since I had stayed there and the service is still excellant.
