Trip Type: With Friends Review 1 of 15Great hotel for the bargain price
Our room was very small, but the price we paid made up for the lack of space. We stayed in a standard double bed room. The hotel itself was very nice. The staff was accomidating. There was no pool but there was a spa and fitness center.

Trip Type: Business Review 2 of 15Good venue, Bad service
While the hotel is outfitted very well, rooms are extremely comfortable, and location relative to Regents Park is great, the hotel is unbelievably understaffed, and all but one of the employees working during our check-in were phenomenally clueless. The one gentlemen, the manager, was the only one capable of working the PCs and checking anyone in; the other two desk staff stood around looking helpless. It took me 50 minutes to get checked in; a conference arrived behind me and everyone was freaking out. This is my 2nd try at the Melia, and while I really like the hotel and it's location, I won't be going back. Too frustrating!!

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 5 of 15Nice Hotel But Not Worth The Money
There is construction going on directly across from the hotel (even on the weekends) so be sure to request a quiet room away from construction to avoid being so rudely awakened. The price was very expensive and the rooms were tiny so I don't feel as though I go what I paid for (for a Delux room) Unfortunately, I hear that's common in London. Overall, I just thought it was okay...average.

Trip Type: Family Review 6 of 15First rate hotel
We stayed at the Melia White House in March 2008 for a week while visiting our daughter who is attending college near by. We chose this hotel because of it's proximity to our daughter. We also need a hotel with a full breakfast so that, because of the dollar-pound exchange rate, we wouldn't be spending the money on that particular meal. This involved upgrading to include this feature. Well worth it. The evening drinks and snacks were also included in rate. We saved there also. It was nice to surf the Internet while having a drink in the "level" lounge. Overall a great hotel with top notch staff and very convenient to the tube and bus lines.

Trip Type: Family Review 7 of 15Great Hotel, Fantastic Location, Friendly staff
This is a great hotel. We have stayed here on several occasions and it is a consistently high performer. The staff are mostly Spanish and they are REALLY nice and friendly. They tried very hard to accommodate all our needs. The location is fantastic, right next to Regents Park and across the street from the underground.

Trip Type: Romance Review 11 of 15Just one minor issue
My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights at the end of September 2006. Our room was very nicely furnished and well equipped, although it was a bit cramped being the least expensive type of room. The facilities in the hotel are excellent, the Spanish restaurant downstairs in particular was wonderful. The concierge was very helpful, especially with parking arrangements for our rental car. The only issue we had was that we were grossly overcharged for making telephone calls from our room. We felt that we had been taken advantage of because the hotel failed to display the charges we would incur by using the phone. Nowhere was this information available to us until we checked out and found the nasty surprise on our bill. I complained and, eventually recognizing they were at fault, the hotel management knocked 25% off the phone bill but that was hardly sufficient given the exhorbitant charges. Would we stay here again? Yes, but we wouldn't go near the phone!

Trip Type: With Friends Review 13 of 15You can go wrong with this hotel
definately get the Royal Service upgrade with that you get a great english breakfast, and evening tappas/cocktails. The tappas were at times limited, but the free cocktails till 10PM and friendly staff made the evening enjoyable after a full day of London sites. We had a Jr Suite and didn't not get in 1 minute earlier than 2PM checkin. They kept our luggage so we could start our tour of London. A short 5 min walk to the tube. It was very hot in July so the elevators (lifts) were HOT!! and the room was cool not cold. The room was beautifully decorated and the king bed/sofa bed were comfortable. Yes I would stay there again! You have to take a short ride on the tube, bus or taxi to get to events.
