    Although our room was small for the money it was satisfactory in every other way ... clean, well maintained, comfortable - not withstanding the size restrictions - well furnished and with great accessories. The lobby and bar areas are nicely done and above all the staff is most helpful, courteous and always professional ... this aspect of our stay was most appreciated.

    The people were rude to us when we got there, when we were leaving, we couldnt find anyone to flag down a cab for us. We were under the impression breakfast was included, it was 23 EURO a person, and was not that good. I think because we didnt prance around in designer duds drinking all day, they ignored us. They didnt tell us about the computer room that was free to use, so we paid 30 Euro for 15 minutes of internet in our room. All these hidden fees really added up and we did not feel like we received anything for it. However, the room was a good size, the bathroom big, loved the robes and slippers. The location is amazing, Louis Vitton and Dolce stores are attached to the building, many attractions are within walking distance. So that was ok. I am just not happy with the huge fees, and the lack of respect from the employees.

Location. The neoclassical Majestic Hotel is located on the Eixample district's Passeig de Gracia avenue with its designer boutiques in central Barcelona, Spain. The hotel is one block from architect Gaudi's La Pedrera, also known as Casa Mila. The lively promenades of Las Ramblas, la Sagrada Familia cathedral, Picasso Museum and historic Gothic Quarter are within one-and-a- half kilometres. La Barceloneta beach and the Old Port are two-and-a-half kilometres from the hotel.

Hotel Features. Barcelona's nine-storey Majestic Hotel has a marble lobby with pillars, tapestries and chandelier leading to a lobby bar with wood panels, red carpets and sofas.

The a la carte Mediterranean food at Drolma restaurant includes traditional dishes like wild pheasant with apples and foie gras. An all-day modern Mediterranean menu is served at the Majestic Hotel's spacious buffet restaurant. With quiet corners for informal meetings, the wood-panelled lobby bar serves snacks and drinks. The poolside bar is open all day.

The hotel can hold up to 500 people in its business centre. Wireless Internet access is available throughout (surcharge).

Loungers offering panoramic cityscape views are dotted around the small outdoor pool with colourful murals. The health centre has a sauna, steam room, free weights, and cardio and resistance machines. Majestic Spa has a choice of massages, facial and body treatmentes.

Guestrooms. Evoking the warmth of the Mediterranean, the Majestic Hotel's 303 soundproofed guestrooms feature air conditioning, minibars, safes and wireless Internet access (surcharge).

Expert Tip. The roof terrace offers far- reaching views of Barcelona, including La Sagrada Familia cathedral. Another Gaudi project, La Pedrera or Casa Mila, is one block from the hotel.
