    This was our third year at the hotel. Although the rooms were clean, the room was very hot!!! We mentioned it to the front desk and they turned off the fan which made it worse. We had to manhandle the sliding glass window to open it. So, in Dec we had to sleep with a window open just to be moderately comfortable. We also had no hot water. No matter how long we ran the tap, the best we got was luke warm water. Very disappointing. This hotel is at a great location, Unfortunately we will have to pick a new hotel for next year's annual trip to Washington DC

    This hotel is in a perfect location if you are touring the Smithsonian, going to the Verizon Center, the Capital building,the Washington Monument, or the National Zoo. With exception of the zoo, everything is within walking distance. The best part is the subway located underneath the hotel. The zoo is only six stops away. The pool was ok - it has a somewhat gross bubble over the top for winter swimming, but the kids enjoyed it nontheless. Beware of the pub - the prices for beer and food are ridiculous. We had a couple of beers, a couple of cheeseburgers, and a kids pizza and the bill was over $60. The waiter snickered when asked if there were happy hour specials. (Hence his 10% tip.) There are no restaurants in the area unless you walk a few blocks away from the Mall area. (Towards the Verizon Center) The reasonably priced choices are endless once you get there.

Location. The L'Enfant Plaza Hotel stands four miles from the Ronald Reagan National Airport. The hotel is built atop the L'Enfant Plaza Metro subway stop. The hotel is located three blocks from the Smithsonian museums and the National Mall. This Washington, D.C. hotel offers underground access to a promenade level of shops and restaurants. Popular Washington venues including the White House, Capitol Hill, the Washington Monument and the Pentagon are within three miles of the hotel.

Hotel Features. The L'Enfant Plaza features a bold, modernist exterior. The lobby area is splashed with gold and earth-toned hues. Two gift shops located in the lobby carry souvenirs and sundries. The American Grill is the hotel's well-known eatery that serves steak and seafood. The Lobby Lounge serves cocktails and light fare, while the Foggy Bottom Pub serves microbrews and pub-style favorites. Recreational amenities include a fitness center with a separate free-weight room and rooftop outdoor pool that converts to an indoor pool during winter months. A business center contains four computer stations. Wireless Internet access is available for a fee.

Guestrooms. The L'Enfant Plaza Hotel features 370 guestrooms with beds draped with quilted down duvets and 310-thread count linens. Guestrooms are decorated in pastel tones. All accommodations offer large panoramic windows with views of the Washington skyline, the Potomac River or the marina. Guestrooms feature cable television and wireless Internet access for a fee. Refrigerators are available on request.

Expert Tip. When Washington, D.C.'s weather is less than perfect, guests may access the underground Metro stop without braving the elements. Not only is there a Metro stop located beneath the hotel, but also souvenir shops and a pharmacy.
