    We stayed in this hotel for a music festival in Indio, CA. It's only a short 20 min drive to the venue and we didn't experience any traffic either way. The rooms are more like a 1 bedroom apartment than a hotel room (and I mean that in a good way). Hotel services are good as well, pool, game room, free internet, horse shoes. Also close to golf if that interests you. Short drive to shopping and resturants.

    Given the long history of this establishment, the maintenance of guest rooms in the residential quarters is outstanding with bountiful amenities, although nothing is luxury or spectacular. The unit is designed to fit in a family of four comfortably so it’s very roomy for two of us to stay. As one can tell, the management of this resort pays attention to every detail, so do its employees. It's a great value for the price we paid. I would recommend it to any couple or family heading to Palm Spring Area.

Location.Located just five miles from downtown Palm Springs, the Desert Oasis Resort is convenient to plenty of chic galleries, trendy eateries, and boutique shopping venues. Just adjacent to the resort is the Cathedral Canyon Golf and Tennis facility. Helping to offset the desert heat is Knott's Soak City Water Park, located just a short drive from the property. The Indian Canyons are perfect for hiking or horseback riding. Guests willing to make the journey can enjoy the famous Joshua Tree National Forest, about 25 miles from the property.

Hotel Features. The aptly named Desert Oasis Resort basks in the year-round, southern California sunshine. Expansive lawns and towering palms contrast with the hardened landscape that makes up this area. The resort features an outdoor pool with poolside bar, a jetted tub, a fitness center, and an adult recreation center, along with children's activities and a game room. Other amenities include business and concierge services and laundry facilities for guest use.

Guestrooms. Each of the one-bedroom units at the Desert Oasis include complete kitchens with refrigerators, microwave ovens, dishwashers, and coffeemakers. Cable television, VCR, complimentary wireless Internet access, in-room safes and telephones with voicemail are all standard amenities.

Expert Tip. The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway climbs 5,900 to the upper slopes of Mount San Jacinto in 14 minutes, allowing for fantastic views of the Coachella Valley. Temperatures are typically 40 degrees cooler than the desert floor, and winter brings with it a snowy wonderland perfect for cross-country skiing and sledding.
