Trip Type: Not Provided Review 1 of 91not what i expected
I asked for 2 beds because my teenage son & I were staying there - was given 1 bed. Bathroom was very small - inconvenient to use/dress in.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 2 of 91Historic Crockett Hotel
I chose this hotel becuase of its proximity to La Villita and all of the downtown San Antonio nightlife. I live in San Antonio and only rarely stay downtown for any reason, but the Crockett was by far the best experience for the amount of money spent!

The first issue is signing an agreement that you will not cancel a room reservation without a financial penalty. Because there are some better deals in the area and they don't want you to leave them for the other deals. The second issue is the cost of the parking and you must use their valet parking and pay the fee even if you self park. You can park in other lots but they discourage the practice by telling you of potential break ins on other lots. There were no negotiations. They benefit by their location not by the quality of their program....they are a "want to be..."

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 5 of 91Perfect Location
The Crockett Hotel is a no-frills hotel at a good price, especially booked through hotel.com. The room was very clean and the staff was very helpful. It could not have been more centrally located to the Alamo, River Walk, River Center Mall, the street car stops and the information center. San Antonio is a very friendly town and easy to get around even without a car. On my next visit I will gladly return to the Crockett.

Trip Type: Family Review 6 of 91Great room for the money
We loved the location of the hotel. It was very convenient and so we left the car parked the whole weekend and could walk everywhere. My husband and I travelled with our 3 kids ages 3,5 and 7. We had a room with 2 double beds and a sofabed which overlooked The Alamo. There was more room than what I had expected. We would definately return to The Crockett.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 10 of 91Exactly What We Wanted In a Hotel
We were only there 1 night. The staff were courteous and helpful. The beds were comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was more than I had expected ... hot waffles (make your own), hot scrambled eggs, in addition to the standard toast, coffee, juice and cold cereal. The hotel is literally across the street from The Alamo and the River Walk is through the mall across the cross-street. Investigate parking before you arrive. They do charge a rather steep $25/night for valet parking ... which we didn't mind because we had very little time.

Trip Type: Family Review 12 of 91GREAT HOTEL- SERIOUSLY!!!!!
Great room! Hotel was clean, staff was friendly, and the location is awesome! The Crockett is nestled between the Alamo and the Rivercenter Mall (Morton's entrance). Perfect location... close to the riverwalk, too. We did not use the valet parking- we took a cab from the airport ($25) which was perfect because we never needed a car the whole time we were there. What a great weekend! They did a great job on re-vamping this historic hotel, and our bed was SO incredibly comfortable! Housekeeping did a great job, as did the people who prepared our breakfast. We will stay there again!

The fairly recent renovation was evident and appreciated. Our room had a clear view of the Alamo and grounds. The hotel staff were very accommodating although the valet parking was less than stellar.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 15 of 91Nice Stay
Pros: Room was nice and clean. Very convenient to Alamo and Riverwalk. Breakfast buffet was good. Price was right. Cons: Lots of hotel noise from Lobby all nite. Kept alot of people awake. Valet parking was expensive ($25 per day) with no free options for self-parking. Valet forgot to deliver my car one evening, even with 1-hour notice.
