Expected more for the money

Staff were friendly, but there were several needs for maintenance. Toilet paper kept falling off the holder, ironing board kept collapsing (we requested and received a working replacement), the iron itself was leaking and stained (not permanently) a garment. To top it off, the water in the shower took 5 minutes at least, to get warm enough to shower. Not even hot, just warm enough to not freeze in January weather. That said, it was very conveniently located, and had decent $10 breakfast buffet.

Good value for the money

Everything was satisfactory except for the fact that we were put in a smoking room even though we had requested non-smoking when we made the reservation 9 mos prior. They were unable to change our room but gave us a free breakfast to compensate. The pool/jacuzzi area is great and they keep the pool heated.

pretty good if you like walking

the good: close to universal stuidios (about 1 mile away), across the street from wet n wild, has a shuttle to non disney parks. the bad: bathroom wasn't clean, tub leaked, no free breakfast.

Needs Improvement

Bathroom needed cleaning. Shower faucet was loose - hard to turn water on/off. Hotel restaurant food was very bad - eat somewhere else.

A good, solid tourist hotel

The Clarion does not offer luxury, but that's not what Orlando tourists want, anyway. It offers solid value, especially if you can buy a room at a discount. The employees are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are getting a bit worn but are kept very clean. The beds are comfortable. The pool and spa area is a wonderful bonus -- a great place to relax after a day at the parks. There's a bar/restaurant and a deli/conveninece store, as well as a small computer room (one usable computer, so don't plan on using it). In all, this hotel offers good value to the Orlando tourist. In our experience, it's ine of the better ones in its class.

Great Hotel for the Nightly Rate

My son and i spent two nights in this hotel and were satisfied with what they had to offer for just the two of us.

Great for the money

Near Universal, Beds too small and bathroom alittle dated but overall a great value. Nice outdoor pool and hottubs with a small basketball court.

Great Hotel, Great Location

This hotel is so close to Universal we could have walked. It is an older hotel but it is clean, comfortable, with great pool and 2 jaccuzzi's. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. We had only one individual that could use improvement in her costumer service but the rest of the staff were always helpful and courtious. The restaraunt food was excellent with a very tasty and reasonably priced breakfast buffet.

Good location, and value for your dollar

This hotel is conveniently located about 5 minutes from Universal, if you take the back route which the hotel staff were happy to share with me. The main road in front of the hotel is standing traffic during peak hours. The hotel was clean, quiet and WELL WORTH the money. It is not a 5 star but it is very nice and clean and the staff were friendly and helpful.
