It's Fine

I stayed here when basically all my other options were unavailable. It was fine. The location is good if you're doing things near Dupont Circle, but it's not as convenient to downtown.

Loved it!

The hotel was super. Management was really on top of everything. Staff was kind. The rooms were retro, spacey, and comfortable. The only thing my wife didn't like was the lack of a tub.

Outstanding

Art Deco Hotel was a real treat. They don't push add ons. Treated very well. Only draw back was parking but that is a DC issue.

Great hotel and good price too

I took my family with me on a business trip, 2 small children and my husband. We had a great time. We had a corner room that gave us LOTS of space and the kitchen was great. Would have liked a small kitchen table for eating, but we used the coffee table. The room was clean, modern, and up kept. The neighbor was wonderful and fun and there is a lot of restaurants within walking distance. It was a little far from the convention center, where I needed to be, but everything else, the price, neighborhood, and room made up for that. I will definitely go to this hotel again.

Great hotel and location, best if you don't have a car

Loved this place, and my family did as well. We picked it for two reasons. First, its location: we wanted to be in the city, near the metro, and this location was great -- big-city neighborhood feel. Second, because it had rooms with two good-sized beds plus a sofa bed. We were pleasantly surprised to also find a small kitchen, with a dorm-size refrigerator, two electric stovetop burners, a sink, and a microwave -- plus dishes! The only downside is parking, but I knew about it beforehand and it was a calculated risk (vs paying $40-50 per night for a garage). They have a tiny (~12 car) parking lot in the back that's first-come/first-served. Otherwise you're on the street, and during the day (between 7:30 AM and 6 PM, I believe) you're supposed to move your car every 2 hours, which makes for awkward tourist planning. Compounding that: during the summer months they have street cleaning two days a week during which time one side of the street is off limits until around noon. Staff was very helpful, and there seemed to be quite a few people taking advantage of their pet-friendly policy. Recommended!

Very Nice

Very Nice hotel, the room was clean and well kept. We didn't stay long, but we wish we did. The only real complaint is the parking. Really none available if you get there too late.

outstanding hotel and is a great room for the money

Excellent location for my family and I when taking my daughter to Howard U. Will be staying there often when we go for visits, great for my shih tzu.

Great location

The Carlyle Suites is a very nice hotel in a great location. Dupont Circle is only a few blocks away, and the metro is available from there. The only negative is the lack of parking. The hotel has a very small lot in the back, in which you may park for free, if you can find a spot! We spent one evening driving around for one hour before we found a spot on the street. Also, there are many parking restrictions on the streets, so we had to move the car around to avoid a ticket. Other than that, we were very happy with our accommodations, and would probably consider staying there again when we visit Washington, D.C.

Lovely boutique hotel

Great location (walking distance to DuPont Circle and U Street), free WI-FI, FREE parking (first-come, first-served) and a super-comfy Tempurpedic bed! They could be charging guests for the WI-FI and parking, but they don't. We were very satisfied with the Carlyle Suites!

Amazing!

From the room to the surrounding area, we were throughly impressed with the Carlyle! I would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Great DC neighborhood

A very quiet, residential neighborhood with lots of restaurant and shooping options within walking distance. More for the business traveler than families on the DC tour trip.

Our first stay here

Check in service and subsequent request for assistance prompt and curtious. Our room had a king bed (very comfortable), kitchenette, sofa, and bathroom (no tub, stand up shower)all clean. Found street side parking easily, but that was probably because of time of day. We stayed one night,convienent location for us. We would stay here again, but one thing, they required a $50 deposit, to be returned. Hope it is.
