    Once you get past the: no elevator for 4 days and counting, 1 day of internet and then a 2-3 month construction project in the bar which knocks out internet for the same time- why? You also have to pay for the wi-fi which wasn't clear to me from the ad .The hotel has some advantages. Clean and good size room, recently remodeled. Great neighbourhood with great restaurants and cafes, metro access and Lux Garden too. Worse part not even a "sorry for the incovenience" from the manager only "OK" if you have to change hotels- wow!

    The room was clean however tiny as expected in Paris. Did see a bigger room at Hotel Mercure around the corner for similar price. Since there is not a front desk person round the clock, getting into the hotel after hrs or early morning can be a bit of a problem if the attendant does not answer the front door. The overall area where the hotel is located is pretty decent, however if you are a first time traveller to Paris, would recommend staying in the Montmatre area. That area is more character to it.

Location. The Best Western Villa des Artistes in Paris, France is on a narrow street, two blocks from Luxembourg Garden, three blocks from the shops and cafés of Montparnasse and Montparnasse metro station. The Louvre and Eiffel Tower are less than three kilometers from the hotel. Paris Orly International Airport is 20 kilometers away.

Hotel Features. On a tiny side street, Villa des Artistes hotel takes its name from the neighborhood's artistic heritage. The carpeted lobby features subdued lighting, complimentary daily newspapers and books. Young local artists display their works in the hotel. A private garden courtyard is open during warmer weather. Buffet breakfasts are served daily and drinks are available from the bar all day. Wireless Internet access is available.

Guestrooms. The six-story Villa des Artistes's 59 guestrooms offer minibars and in-room safes. The private bathrooms have shower/tub combinations. The rooms have views of the inner garden courtyard or the side street. Wireless Internet access is available in all the rooms.

Expert Tip. Montparnasse Tower, two blocks from the hotel, is a 210 meter tall office skyscraper. Built on top of the Paris Metro station, "Montparnasse-Bienvenüe", the 58 floors of the tower are mainly occupied by offices, while two floors are open to the public for viewing the city. On a clear day, the view covers a radius of 40 kilometers.
