good room for money

stayed on new years eve, had requested a balcony room,which costs quite a bit more,but as it turned out the balcony rooms all faced a dark alley and were 4 feet from another building,while the regular rooms had nice views and were cheaper-go figure.So,don't get a so called "balcony"room.Stay with cheap one on second floor or above and it will be sunny and lovely.

Great Deal

I was going to book a more expensive hotel in the area, but chose based on distance from the docks. I'm glad I did because the rooms exceeded my expectations. Clean, Comfortable beds, Good Continental Breakfast.

Good for a cheap stay close to everything

We got a good deal on the room and it was very comfortable. The continental breakfast is good if you are a morning person and don't mind simplicity. The internet was fairly reliable except it seemed like every couple of hours I had to re-enter the password (annoying if you're doing something that requires a dedicated connection). The housekeeping is good as well. Our only problem with that is the guest services book said housekeeping took place between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM and we could call for a specific time. We tried one day and were told that in fact the housekeepers were only there until they were done all the rooms and then they were gone for the day and in fact they can't promise a cleaning time. So it was just a bit of in room misleading information. Other than that check in and out was simple and we liked our stay.

Great room for the money

We spent three nights over the Christmas Holiday while visiting our daughter in Long Beach. The location was convienient if you want to be close to the downtown. We walked to the aquarium and on the way back took a free downtown shuttle bus. The hotel is very well kept and the bed was very comfortable...comparable to a bed you would find in a four star hotel. The recent remodel was up to date with granite counter tops in the bathroom. The rooms were a little small but adequate for sleeping. Breakfast was average. We opted to eat out the third day for more variety. It would have been nice to have a hot tub but for the price this hotel is a great find.

Great Stay

Great comfort beds. Room and bathroom decent size. Very clean. Good choices in breakfast. Had pool, gym and internet. Good location to beach and many other amenities nearby.

clean, friendly staff...good location

no problems at this hotel...nothing fancy, but clean, and good location. Walking distance to convention center and downtown area restaurants. Continental breakfast including waffles...was a plus!

Nice Room, Bad Service

We liked our hotel room, but the staff was very unfriendly, particularly the lady at the front desk. She was downright rude during check-in. When we called to ask for more towels (there were only 2 in the room), they said we would have to wait for the maintenance man to get in. Also, when we came back to the hotel after dinner, the front door was locked and our key wouldn't work to get us in. We had to pound on the door until the front desk person finally appeared and let us in. Not a good experience at the Best Western.

I made these reservations for my father. The rating for the hotel were superior, so I decided to see for myself. Wow - I was pleasantly surprised! The hotel was very clean, not overly decorated and very quiet. The rooms were also exceptional for the cost. My father had a great experience. This is a perfect hotel for all my out-of-town guests!

Beautifully clean, updated, comfortable hotel. Loved the bed linens, the cleanliness of the whole hotel, even the coffee was great!
