Great Hotel at a Great Price

For a trip overnight to the city, I can't imagine a better hotel at a better rate in a better neighborhood. Only a few blocks from DuPont circle (so minutes away from mass transportation and a great gateway to the rest of the city). The staff was courteous, the room comfortable and clean. The only downside I saw in our overnight stay was the lack of free wi-fi.

Needs Improvement

Needs improvement. Manager is rude and impersonal. Im sure you can find better hotels in the area.

Great room for the money

Great value room. Staff a bit odd though. Didn't feel like they were really on top of things. Maybe they were a skeleton staff for the holiday?

Lovely hotel in excellent location

The Beacon is a well-appointed, nicely located hotel. The room and bathroom were clean and welcoming. The bed was wonderfully comfortable. The Mall is within easy walking distance and the surrounding area has many shops and restaurants nearby. We were very happy with the hotel and staff.

Small Room

Thought the room would be bigger. But other than that, great.

Double charged

Careful to examine bill. we were double charged. first through hotels.com and the the hotel itself

Nice hotel but lacking reservation follow-through

I had booked and paid the amount for the studio room with a king bed, queen sofa bed, bath with separate vanity area, and kitchenette. At check-in they insisted that I had booked a standard room, and would have to see if they could give me an upgrade. We ended up with a small studio, tiny bath, and nothing at all like was shown and described when I made my selection. The hotel was not nearly full; I have stayed there before and have had well-kept, spacious rooms - a reason to return. I would simply like to know that I am getting what was requested without being made to feel 'demanding'. It felt like a breakdown in communications somewhere. I had a copy of my exact request, which they didn't want to see.
