Trip Type: Special Event Review 1 of 137Enjoyable Sta
We enjoyed our stay immensly. The hotel was at a great central location for our needs. We loved that there was the "Big Kahuna" Bar and Grill next door, the convenience of the Chinese restaurant on the premises was delightful with great food, the market place was right near us, just a few steps away. The staff was very friendly and informative. The rate was great for this location and hotel. We can't say enough nice things about your hotel. We look forward to staying there again.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 3 of 137Great Location, Service & Price
We stayed here 1 night before a cruise on 1 night after the cruise. This is a older renovated hotel which has a convienent location and reasonable rates that make its a good buy for the cost sensitive traveler. The hotel is only 2 blocks from the beach. The street behind the hotel was the major shopping area with dinning and clubs. The staff was friendly and helpfull and the room was spacious. However, if you are a early or light sleeper, I recommend requesting a room on an upper floor since the noise from street or nearby clubs on a weekend may keep you awake.

Trip Type: Family Review 4 of 137Nice older hotel a couple of blocks from the beach.
We stayed on the 6th floor in a one bedroom suite. It was still a little noisy even on the 6th floor, but the room was nice and clean, and the service was good. It reminded us a little of staying in Vegas, but we would probably stay there again.

This hotel was the perfect hotel for us in Hawaii. It was very close to the beach. There many restaurants and shops within walking distances as well. The staff was extremely helpful and nice. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Prior to booking a room at the Aqua Waikiki Wave Hotel, I read reviews in regards to the hotel and had the impression that the 3.5 star hotel would be decent enough to stay at during my vacation in Hawaii. The only good thing about the hotel is that it is located really close to the main tourist attractions (i.e. shopping centers, Dukes, Puka Dog, etc), which was a good thing since it was my first time visiting Hawaii. The following are the reasons why I was not satisfied with the Aqua Waikiki Wave: 1- The hotels.com reviews that I read in regards to this hotel stated that the staff was hospitable. However, upon arrival at the hotel, there is no Bell Person to assist the guests with their luggage up the stairs and into the lobby (I believe that this is a basic service that all hotels should provide to their clients). 2- The hotel charges for parking spaces, but apparently does not count how many spaces it leases vs. how many they actually have available. My party felt the need to return to the hotel as early as possible to make sure that we were able to get a parking space (which we paid for). Otherwise, you are sent about 1 block away to try to find parking in a different hotel lot (you would have to pay the fee at the other hotel and have the Aqua Waikiki Wave issue a credit to your charge card after the fact). 3- The condition of the rooms at the Aqua Waikiki Wave were pretty terrible. To give them credit, it appears as though they make the effort to show the guests that they try to keep the rooms as clean as possible (each room is given a name card for the housekeeper who is in charge of their room). I was assigned two rooms (on different floors) at the hotel. In both rooms, I found dried liquid rings on all of the table tops, crumbs (or some other substance that looked like crumbs) on the night stand tables, dust bunnies in the vents, rust and mildew in the bathrooms and one of the rooms had a dirty toilet. 4- The bedsheets were really stiff. I saw stains

Trip Type: Romance Review 9 of 137Nice Room
The room was very nice and very clean. The staff was friendly. The only drawback was the parking lot is small and the spaces are narrow. This made it difficult to find parking during the night when everyone is trying to get back into their rooms. Despite the parking, I'd stay here again...

Trip Type: Family Review 13 of 137Not so great for the price
The price does not include breakfast or parking. The front desk did not provide even maps of the area. The view from the room was really bad. All we could see were the the Air Conditioning units of neighboring buildings. The balcony was noisy because of the AC units. There is a restaurant near the front desk that is very smelly. I would not go there again.

Trip Type: Family Review 15 of 137"This is what I'm talking about!"
--My 21 year-old son's comment when we opened our room door. We had just come from a very cramped stay at another hotel in Melbourne AU and were hoping to find this Jr. Suite Superior to be a great room -- and it was. Spacious and with two queen beds, two sliding glass doors and two balconies. Refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave for popcorn, we had it all. And the hotel even lends you beach towels for the day. We had a great time walking around the International Market which backs up to the hotel and enjoyed finding restaurants in other areas. We recommend the Shorebird in the Outrigger on the beach. Coupons in most of the Oahu brochures, and you get to grill your own meat. A real guy kind of restaurant but with the view for the ladies. For those who want in-hotel food and a grand lobby, this is not the place for you, but lots of family friendly restaurants are right down the street. We enjoyed the free newspaper daily at our door with breakfast fare from the local ABC quickie market, McDonald's, and Burger King. Workout room on level 1 with free weights and machines. Ice on this same level. We parked our rental free for one night. Walk to the Waikkiki beach is two blocks so you need to wear cover-ups. Great hotel for the money. Would recommend it to any family.
