Trip Type: With Friends Review 1 of 461Outstanding Hotel
The staff was very nice and very helpfull. I needed extra towels and sheets and I recieved them promptly. We had brunch in the Pump Room and sat at Booth one as requested. We offered the head waiter a tip for this and he declined it. The Buffet was fabulous. The only thing that caused me pause was the Suite we were in looked nothing like the two pictures I saw on the WebSite. Nothing. It was a nice clean suite, but not as fancy as I imagined based on the pictures

Great room. Great hotel. Great staff. Great ambiance. Close to everything with a jump on the subway. Walking distance to fabulous night spots. Went for a girl's weekend and had a great time. Recommend to all.

Trip Type: Romance Review 3 of 461Great hotel in a great location!
We loved this hotel mostly because it was in a great location that allowed us to easily get to our dinner location and our New Years Eve party!

Trip Type: Romance Review 5 of 461Always a Favorite
I have stayed at the Ambassador East several times throughout the last 15 years and loved it every time. The rooms are lovely. Only issue is that there can be a lot of street noise on the lower levels. We always enjoy having a drink at the Pump Room Bar, but too bad that the restaurant is being allow to decline. We love the neighborhood and enjoy walking. The staff is always warm and very welcoming.

Bathrooms are dated. TV's are small and old. First night we had a noisy heater which kept us up thru the night. Exercise equipment is not maintained - very noisy treadmill and stepper. Some cables on the weight machine do not work.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 7 of 461Beautiful Older Hotel
Overall our stay was very pleasant. We loved looking at the photos of the movie stars who visited the Pump Room. There were so many, and they go as far back as the 1930's when it opened. My only issue was that they posted a $50.00 deposit on my Visa debit card, because it was a debit and not a credit card. So now I must wait for the refund. Other than that is was a lovely place, especially if you like a taste of Chicago nostalgia.

I remembered this hotel from my childhood. It is beginning to show it's age. For what we needed that weekend it worked out perfectly.
