Le Cameleon Puerto Viejo
We felt like royalty from the moment we walked in where we were seated and served a complimentry beverage while checking in. We were escorted to our room and shown the resort property. The service was outstanding, and the manager made us feel like it was our second home. We truly appreciated Alex, Sol, and the whole staff of this resort.
Our room was so comfortable and clean, and we loved how they changed the accent colors every day. They even turned down our covers in the evening while we were at dinner.
Food was delicious! Great atmosphere! Can't say enough about how great our stay was....More

LA BAULA LODGE - ALL INCLUSIVE
When my husband and I arrived at the hotel it was late at night, though we had previously checked to be sure that a late check in wouldn't be an issue and were advised that it would not be due to being secured on credit card. There was no one at the front desk and despite ringing the bell twice and calling for assistance a few times, I had to telephone the hotel's number to get a response and that was due to it WAKING UP the front desk person who was apparently napping in the office. My husband saw her jerk awake at the ringing.
Also, because our room did not have an actual bathtub, water bugs were able to crawl up through the drain on more than one occasion during our 4 night stay. When this was brought to the staff's attention they seemed aloof to it and saying that it happens in those rooms. I don't think that bugs in the bathroom is an acceptable condition regardless of which room we are placed in.
We were not provided a do not disturb sign so we were awakened twice by housekeeping which was only corrected by housekeeping offering me the tag from a recently vacated room to use. Also we were disturbed early in the morning by the alarm clock that was still set from the previous occupant. Because we had gotten in so late I couldn't figure out how to fully shut it off and had to actually just unplug the thing to resume sleep....More
