    Colony Park Plaza Unique Hotel (formerly Kempinski)
    The personnel of the hotel is superb,friendly, active smiling, attentive. Why we rated the comfort of the room so low, is that it was located not far from a room with fire place and some time of the night some guests congregated there. They were not exactly quiet. One phone call to the front desk solved that problem though, pretty quickly....More

    Pocitos Plaza Hotel
    If you are coming to MONTEVIDEO from BUENOS AIRES, you will probably be surprised out how quieter and slower things are. You will also probably be surprised by how much large the rooms and bathrooms are here comparatively as well. The hotel is well maintained and has a great staff (lots of English speakers), free internet, a nice little roof top balcony, and is very close to shore line and beach. The only downside is that you are not really with in walking distance of the main "downtown" area of MONTEVIDEO where all the tourist sites are, but you can easily reach them by bus or cab in a short trip....More
