We stayed for 5 nights and were very comfortable. The location of this place is great. It is in the middle of town near just about all you could hope to see, but also on a nice quiet corner. If you rent a car you can find a free spot pretty easily a block or two away, and get out of town without a worry. It is eye popping expensive, but that is Iceland. A couple of beers and hot dogs will cost you about $40 usd. More economical hotels were only about $50 a night less. We decided to pay a bit more and were greatly rewarded. Our room looked over the downtown area and the midnight sun cast shadows on our walls (room 308 - corner). Rooms in Iceland are really small overall and the hotel did feel a bit more oriented towards couples. I overheard a larger family complaining about the size. The breakfast was excellent. Be prepared though...your credit card will get beat up....More

Great space, SUPER location, if you are gonna pre-party at this hotel, try to stay in a business suite upgrade; there's more room for friends to hang out in the room with you before going out at night, which is Iceland is a strong recommendation. Right across the street (about 20 feet away) from a sub shop called "Hlollabatar" and a pizza joint, both of which are 24-hour joints on weekends. There's a tourism office next door to the hotel as well. They even let us check in early, around 9 AM. Highly recommended!...More
