Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas
Room was not cleaned thoroughly. Hallways and room smelled like mold. Pool "lagoons" were not clean either. Concierge was unfriendly, did not provide specific information, was impatient and unwilling to go out of her way, and seemed to push specific tour companies for the wrong reasons. Front desk, as well as the waitstaff were most definitely not five star quality. Up[on checkout they did not even ask me how I enjoyed my stay. The only employees who seemed polished and hardworking were the porters. This hotel is EXTREMELY overpriced for what you get. I will never recommend it and will stay far away from it myself....More

Rydges World Square - Sydney
My wife and I enjoyed staying at this hotel, great location which is close to everything including eating in Chinatown. The hotel staffs were very friendly and helpful.
If the room price is right again.....we would plan to go back there next year....More

The Menzies Sydney
Found the staff very helpful, and willing to help. I arrived at the hotel at about 9am, from the airport due to the time my BA Flight arrived.
As I arrived early, they "upgraded" my room to a King Room, overlooking the Wynyard Park/Station, as mine wasn't available. They have done this before for me - if they have a spare equivilant or better room, they will upgrade you at no extra cost.
I found the bed reasonably comfortable, but anything would be more comfortable after spending 8 hours on the plane, and spending a week in uncomfortable beds in Thailand.
The room had "a/c" but, any cold air coming out was weak, made no noticable difference to temprature, and as a result found it very warm. Didn't complain as I had a comfortable bed, and was only there for 2 nights.
Room decor needs completely redoing, very 70s/80s style/tired looking. Just don't be fooled by their lobby area (which looks fantastic!), as it's not representive of the rooms.
The major plus side of the hotel is that it's central in the CBD, for the location of this hotel and the price I paid, you would have a hard time beating it. Train station is right outside the front door, so it's no hassle getting a train any where....More
